Hi Girls,

Do any of you get what I would describe as a side-stich typ pain? It happens off and on for me.....not when I'm sitting, but sometimes towards the end of a workout or just went I'm walking casually. It feels like the pain the you would get if you ate or drank too much and then went for a run. It happened bad yesterday. As soon as I started to workout on the eliptical it hit and I had just started and wasn't pushing myself at all. I stayed on for about 10 minutes b/c sometimes it goes away but it persisted and was hurting so I got off and went home. I was fine once I stopped and rested.

Has anyone had something similar happen? Oh and the pain was in the lower abdomen to the right.

Lora - yes, I get those pains sometimes. I think those are still the round ligament pains that we have been getting. Our childbirth instructor mentioned that they are normal.

28 weeks today!! I have the GTT this afternoon. Do y'all know if I will get the results today?

Hi all!

Finally home(since Sunday) and on bedrest until 30 wks. Feeling more confidant as the DR's feel my bleed caused by the edge of placenta that was touching the cervix due to previa, wiggled off and passed as a clot when it moved up. I no longer have a placenta previa, it's moved up out of the way. Big threat gone, YAY!!

Every test and US showed no leakage of membranes, fluid, no trauma to placenta, cervix long and closed, and baby was stilll meas. week ahead and unfazed by it all. Never had any contractions, and the HR was always normal, baby always very active.

BR will be a precaution, and I will get through it. The Maternal Fetal Specialists and the high risk ward I was in were phenominal. There were 16 pg high risk women on the floor when I was there, and over 30-40 preemies in the ISCU so I trust them wholheartedly. Gave me great peace of mind knowing that's all they do, high risk and preemies.

I can share my know. of some of the pains you are all feeling as I have had some of them and experts explained the diff. to me and what to look for. Low stabby, achy pains near crotch either side, round ligament pain. Hurts when you poke it, roll, move, pain eases when lyng still.

Pains on either side of bellybutton that don't come and go, but more constant and stabby to achy, gas pains/constipation. I hadn't had a BM in 5 days in Hosp. and had horrible pains there, they would put me on the monitors, and no contractions. Colon/bowels on left side and pain was always worse when lying on left.

Pains that come and go, feeling like pressure, cramps, squeezing, tummy feels tight when push on it are BH contractions. Key being they don't last long, but come back. 4-6 an hour o.k., more is a concern. They told me to drink at least 16oz. water, lie on left side, and if still there in an hour, to call. Many times even slight dehydration can cause "uterine irritability" which will lead to contractions if don't rehydrate and lie down.

I am told to drink 80- 100 oz. fluids a day to stay hydrated. I had hard time determining a contraction (never did), gas pain, round lig. Every time I had pains that peristed, they would put on the HR and contractions monitors for 1/2 hr. and then I was able to tell the difference.

Happy to be home, and feeling very optomistic!! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Although I am not happy being on BR for so long and would love to be shopping for baby and getting nursery ready, I feel very fortunate cuz things could have been so much worse. I will follow with the specialits until I hit 30 weeks, then go back to reg. OB barring any issues, knock on wood.

Erika- so glad you're home and the previa is GONE. Your prognosis sounds great! Hopefully you just have a few more weeks of BR and then can resume a bit of normalcy in your lift. And thanks for all the info on the aches and pains. That was very helpful.

One quick question for all. I have tightness in my stomach here and there but it's usually after I eat or drink a lot of water. Is that really BH or just fullness??

Hi ladies,

Erika - Glad you are home and things are much better for you.

AFM, quick post. I am finally done with jury duty. Believe it or not, I was chosen for a murder trial, unbelievable!!! Glad its over and actually the day was much easier than going into work. Have so much to catch up on since I've been MIA for the last week. I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow.

Have a great day.

Lisa

Erika~ Glad you made it home and everything is o.k.! Thanks for the BH contractions information...is it possible to have them and not know it? Just curious...

Lora~ I've been having "stitches in my belly" (like stitches in my side) when I exercise for a while now....like since October? They always go away when I stop. It does seem to happen more on the right side...but I contributed that to the fact that I had my appendix removed last year and have have a lot of scar tissue. It also happens during s-e-x. I will try to ask the dr at my next appt next week......I always forget...so I guess I haven't been too concerned.

Barcelona~ Thanks for the link to the things you need to buy. DH thanks you too!
