Baby Movement

Hello everybody,

I would like to get some advice on baby's kicks or movement. I get paranoid when I don't feel him... sometimes for hours. Can somebody tell me if this is normal and if the baby is suppose to move all day around. It feels so good when he moves, to me is a sign of that he is doing ok.

Thanks,

Fresy

Hi there,
I know what you mean, I have started feeling my baby for a few weeks now (I am 21weeks tomorrow). When he is quiet you do worry,it is only natural but I understand the baby sleeps for 2/3rds of the time so it is natural to have quiet times. I was told the trick is not to panic at those times but I admit I have had a couple of occasions when I have! Then the little kicks/wriggles start again and I am so relieved. If you are worried, talk to your midwife or doctor.
What stage are you at?
Love
Emma

It's normal for you to not feel the baby moving, especially when you're busy and moving around, because that supposedly lulls the baby to sleep. With my first child, I didn't feel him all day, but I usually felt him at night when I was lying on the couch watching TV. If you're worried, drink some OJ and lie on your left side for 30-60 minutes and see if the baby starts moving. And of course, talk to your doctor or midwife. I know how you feel because I always worried if I didn't feel movement. Good luck!
