Sick as a dog!! How long more???

Hi girls,

I read all these posts about other women who feel "normal' and let me tell you that is not my case!!

I am only 6w5day and have been going from my bed to my couch for the past 2 weeks already. Iam so nauseous that I can hardly stand up without feeling all dizzy and running to the bathroom.
All I have to say is that if you are blessed with no symptoms, you are soooo lucky
I think that my body also got beat up after all these months of infertility treatment and that it makes it that much harder for it to adjust to the hormones fluctuations.
Anyhow, do any of you girls who had bad early symptoms know how long this miserable state is going to last???? All I read says the first trimester...I can't imagine being like this for another 2 months.
I want so much to be enjoying this pregnancy....
Marina

Marina- a couple of hints from folks on the June boards -

1) take your vitamins at night with food.
2) try out sea sickness wrist bands (seabands) you can order them online and some pharmacies have them
3) ginger ale, candied ginger - anything ginger
4) cheese sandwiches (only thing I could eat for days)
5) tums
6) lemons, lemon pops, lemonaide
7) small frequent meals
8) lots of rest (take naps)
9) for constipation - colace
10) if it smells gross don't eat it!

Marina - it will get better - so I'm told - sickness kicked in with me at about 6w2d and I just wanted to die - it's still pretty bad but I've learned to manage it now.

Your doc can also prescribe a safe medicine you can take to help with the nausea. My friend did it with both of her pregnancies - it saved her life! She was able to keep things down and didn't have to worry about dehydration and having to go to the hospital, etc. I would call you doc

thank you guys for the advices,

Iam still feeling pretty bad and having lots of cramps, apparently due to the streching of the uterus. It is very painful, especially at night. So that combined with the nausea it makes for some pretty bad days.
We went for a U/s a few days ago and saw a h/b so that gave me some strenghts.
But Iam still pretty depressed and down from being in pain and having to lay down all day.
oh well, I came this far. Iam just hoping that things will get better in the next few weeks.

Marina -

It will get better... I know that doesnt help much now but it will..

With my DD, I was sick like you are for the LONGEST time (I wont say how long because I dont want you to worry - ). This pregnancy so far has been a breeze... I feel sooo lucky because of what I went through with her.

Those tips down below are great... Hopefully they help..

Keep smiling!
