Still feeling down
O.k., I'll admit it that I haven't pursued getting meds any further because I thought I was doing better. The truth is that I am doing better, but only because I hired a babysitter to help me a couple of days a week. Having some time to myself is definitely the only thing that is keeping me sane these days! But I'm still having some really bad times on the days that I don't have help. When does it get better?

Meredith,
I got meds from my OB and only took them for a week. I was already starting to feel better and didn't think I needed them. But lately I've been feeling trapped and depressed. On top of that, I went for hypnosis yesterday to quit smoking (took it up again during the baby blues period), spent $100 (that I didn't have)...and it didn't work! Everyone promises me that these times are the hardest and that it will get better! In the meantime, make the most of your time with a sitter. My problem is that when I have someone over that can help, I end up just visiting and not sleeping or reading or just taking time for me! Big hugs sweetie, Athena

Oh Meredith, I wish I had an easy answer for you, but it's just not that easy. Having the help that you now have is priceless, just getting some time alone away to recharge is so important. Getting enough sleep in also so important. It will get better, but it may still take some time. Know that we are here for you when you need the support and if you feel that you need medication, please call your doctor. There is nothing wrong with getting an edge to help you when things are really bad.
Hugs to you!

Meredith!Honestly, if I were you, I'd persue the meds... they can make all the difference in the world! For me, it didn't get better until Miss G was around one and I was unmedicated because I chose to ignore it. I wish I would have treated it instead of ignoring it. Lots of

I totally agree with Annette. Having said that, I am on high alert for symptoms myself and know that the moment I recognize them I will take action. You deserve to be happy
