Potty training question....

DS is in pull ups and diapers. After waking in the am I have him tinkle and put him in a swim suit or shorts so he is not wearing a diaper, pull up, or underwear. He tinkles for me. When we get to camp I have him tinkle in the little potty and when I pick him up at noon again I have him tinkle in their potty or right when we get him. I again let him go "without". He does fine and doesn't have pee pee shorts or anything.

Poop is a different matter. He is not regular and it can be like rabbit pellets or loose..... am or pm... anytime. So am I supposed to wait till he poops in the potty till I put him in underwear? Should I just put him in underwear now? He is almost 3. Very verbal. Pees in the potty. Pulls his shorts up and down. Can dres himself partly. Knows his body. Any ideas?

Be patient. When he gets the idea of the "urge", he'll let you know and there will be not turning back. Not a thing that can be taught.

Ok well we have been doing underwear the past 2 days. One nasty in the underwear and my cousin was babysitting and I said just to throw the undies away. This afternoon after his nap I found a few rabbit pellets (sorry tmi) and I just dumped in the toilet. I think he did it while he was sleeping. Other than that he is doing fine in underwear and stays dry drying naps too. I am just gonna deal with the poop in underwear and hope it grosses him out eventually-LOL!

Glad that he is doing well with the PT. The poops will get better. MJ still wears a pull up at bedtime...I have don't think she is ready...she still wets her pull up.

I hope you and him have continued success.
