    1. When will your kindergartener(s) be in school?
Afternoon! 1-3:40pm and they will be together.

    2. Transportation
Walking. We live right next to our Elementary school.

    3. What will the before and after school day be like?
Hopefully easy! They'll be home in the mornings and maybe we'll take time to go do something on occasion. After school will be back at home unless I need to run errands or feel like taking them to the playground.

    4. What will YOU be doing during that time?
Wow I have no idea. I 'should' be heading to the gym. Most likely I'll use it to quickly clean, check email, run an errand and wonder why I have no time to work out. lol

I had the option of separating them or keeping them together. I chose to "not" respond with my preference. (What works for one might not work for the other -- and it's too difficult to decide whose needs are more important.) The principal called me and told me that enrollment is down this year and they only have 1 pm class, but 2 am classes. Walkers would most likely end up in the afternoon unless I made a special request to separate them, then he'd put them in the am. I still couldn't decide. When he told me class sizes for AM are about 21 kids and the PM was 16... I felt very good about PM. Our preschool class was 14, so I think they'll both do very well in the smaller class.

Besides... Mommy is tired of her kids by 1PM, so she'll be happy to walk them to the school! LOL

Gosh.....I haven't posted on here in FOREVER!!!

    1. Connor will be in all day kindy. 8:30-3:30 every day, except Wednesdays which is early release day for all kids in the district and that day is till 1:30.

    2. He'll ride the bus with his big brother.

    3. Before will probably be hectic, since I now have 3 kids to get out the door. After, hopefully his teacher won't be homework crazy. I have a feeling he'll come home exhausted. So, hopefully he'll be able to relax and play.

    4. I have NO idea!!!! This is the first time in 11 1/2 years that I will have full days entirely to myself! lol I'm a bit lost, actually. Just bought a gym membership and plan to put that to use. I plan to volunteer some with Connor and Aidan's classes. I'd actually like to take some sort of classes myself. Then obviously, I will put my time to smart use and clean my house and run errands without distractions or interruptions so that I can focus on homework, etc. at least for the older two, when they get home.

Wow...it's been forever for me too (posting here!).

Can you believe our teeny tiny babies that we had just YESTERDAY are now in Kindergarten!???

Janet - that's awesome that the girl's Kindergarten worked out just right!
Jodi - hope your boys have a great first day tomorrow! Just relax and enjoy your quiet time, at least for a day!

Abigail & Caleb are going to a small school, K-2nd grade. There are only 2 Kindergartedn classes, so they have lunch and recess together and will do field trips and some other things together. The two teachers tried to split the kids evenly, so each class has 20 kids in them, and the split is 14 boys / 6 girls in each class!!! YIKES! Abigail said all the boys are going to be after her, and Caleb said, "well, all the girls are going to be after me!" (except there are not as many girls to chase after him!) One of their older friends said this too them so they are just repeating it - we are NOT encouraging talk of boyfriend/girlfriend - NO WAY!

    1. When will your kindergartener(s) be in school?
all day - 8am-3pm. They are in seperate classrooms but have lunch and recess together. School started last week and they seem to be handling it fine.

    2. Transportation
I'll be driving them to and from school..the school is 6 miles away but they would be on the bus for a long time. Since Daddy has Monday's off..I'm hoping he gets to enjoy taking them at least once a week.

    3. What will the before and after school day be like?
Hopefully before will continue to go smooth. Up at 7am, eat breakfast, get dressed and ready, brush teeth and a few minutes to play before going out the door at 7:45. Molly and I pick them up at 3 and hopefully we'll head home for snack and play and whatever - I don't think there will be much/any homework.

    4. What will YOU be doing during that time?
    a) working (hopefully working on editing photos - yet to be taken)
    b) working out - My plan is to start walking this monday morning after dropoff, and me and a couple other moms are planning a bible study/walking group, so hopefully that will take off this week too.
    c) errands - I won't know how to act running errands without the kids, but I know I'm going to! I went to Walmart Friday after dropping them off and saw Moms with their kids and I got sad that mine weren't with me. This will take some getting used to!
    d) cleaning - of course! I hope to get my house (and myself) in shape!
    f) eating bon bons and watching my shows - maybe I can watch my shows while I fold clothes Maybe some FB time though.
    g) any imaginable combination of the above - THIS!
I also hope to volunteer at the school some once they get settled in.

    1. When will your kindergartener(s) be in school? All day, (8:45ish-3:45ish)every day! I was quite surprised thinking it was going to be every other day, but nope. I am more

    2. Transportation- bus most days. I'm going to wait and see who Grace does with this on the warm days. She gets carsick really easy in the van if she gets too warm. So I may go get them on the warmer days, we'll see. They are all excited about riding the bus! It also depends on how long their bus ride is, I think its going to be a short one.

    3. What will the before and after school day be like? Hopefully not too crazy! lol! Up, breakfast, dressed and teeth etc. After school will be a bit of down time before dinner, I think. Or just outside to run and play while the weather is nice. We'll have to wait and see. They will differently have to go to bed a bit earlier since they will be getting up earlier.

    4. What will YOU be doing during that time? I will still have one at home, but I think I can get lots done while he plays. He LOVES to play by himself and is so quiet doing so. I really don't know how to act with just having one around. I'll have about 9 weeks before the baby comes, so this will be fun time to do things with just Caleb. I plan to take him to story time too. I have lots of sewing to do for Grace for school clothes, and then some baby stuff to get ready. Taking one along on errands is going to be SO strange!

My 3 were born during the "1st half" of 2004 so they just turned 6 in May and they are starting 1st grade on Wed. Their Kindergarten was last yr (afternoons) w/all 3 in the same class. They left here at 11:45 am and returned at 4:30 pm.

This yr they are all 3 in separate classes (our request) and the bus leaves here at 7:55am and returns at 4:20.

    Ummm, I'm a little late
The boys started K in august. They go full-day, 8:15am-3:15pm.
Dh drives them to school & I pick them up. We looked into the bus but they say we live too close. We do live close, yet too far for K to walk... It's a real pain to wake Addison & Nolan from nap to pick the boys up & I dread the winter for this!!
Because I'm a SAHM, they are home before & after school. It is chaotic around here afterwards tho... They are in separate classes so that means two different homework packets, etc. We get home around 3:30pm, have snack, and while I unpack their bookbags they get a few minutes to play & unwind. It's so hard to do homework with the little ones around-Addison wants to get involved & Nolan is climbing on me. I start dinner between 4-5pm & we eat at 6pm. By the time I clean up after dinner, it's time to pick up & get ready for bed (dh still works afternoons/nights). I try to have the little ones in bed by 7:45pm so that the boys have snack & get to bed by 8:15pm.
I actually feel human & able to get out of the house again!! Dh & I often run errands in the AM since it seems so easy with just 2 I try to get all of my work done before lunch so that during naps I have MY time since puck up on is CRAZY here!!!
I work at the school on tuesday's. I help in christopher's class first & then go onto paul's room. Christopher lives that I'm there but Paul seems like he doesn't care much. Ive also been lucky enough to go on a field trip already, & plan on going on another in December! I love helping out!!
We've gotten great reports on the boys from school, which we love!! They are both doing great socially & educationally! Christopher is even reading at a 2nd grade level!! They get their report cards this Friday so I'm anxious to see those!!
