Nicholas & Noelle are moving to the pre-preschool classroom. I call it that b/c they need to be potty trained before moving into the pre-school room.
The teachers told me Friday that N&N are going downstairs with Ms. Ashley. They are the oldest 2 yr olds in the class they are in now. The school has 3 more 2 yr olds starting Monday and they need to move 3 kids downstairs. They don't want to separate N&N so they'll move down there together. I think if they could have, they would have kept Nicholas since he is a little behind then Noelle. This is a new teacher whom I have never met either.
I am so bummed b/c I LOVE the teachers they have now. I am hoping Ms. Ashley is as nice as the others. It's a much smaller class too - only 6 kids compared to the 12 in the classroom they have been in.
I'm sad too b/c that means N&N are getting olderThey will be in the pre-school room by November when they turn 3 yrs old. The teachers did tell me this teacher will work much more with potty training to get them ready. But they said to bring a new box of diapers in on Monday for the teacher. I guess then she'll tell me to bring pull ups or underwear to get them trained....
In a way, this is good because they will be learning so much more and doing a lot more. In a way it's bad too b/c my babies are so not babies anymore![]()
I can give an update next week to let you all know how the transition went. I plan on staying with them an extra hour on Monday b/c I have a feeling they may be upset they aren't in the other classroom. I've been prepping them by telling them about the new classroom and trying to ge them excited but I just don't think they "get" it. Lets hope it all goes smoothly on Monday!

That's great that they are moving up, but I understand the sadness and worry.
Do they do any sort of transitions into the new room?? Every center I've ever taught at does a week of transitioning...maybe 9-11am on Mon/Tuesday, 9-after lunch on Wed/Thursday, and then all day on Friday. Then that following Monday they would start full time in the new room. And usually, when they transitioned, the previous teacher would take them to and from the new room...so if they are close to that first teacher, they feel like they are taking them and helping them, rather than being taken from them and not getting to see them. Just a thought...maybe they can do something like that for N&N if they are so attached/close to their current teacher??
I hope that the transition goes well and extra *HUGS* for mommy since her babies are getting so big.

Congratulations on moving up, Nicholas and Noelle!
I am sure they will do fine with their transition and I hope that Ms. Ashley is better than their current teachers!Kim

I so know how you feel!
I felt the same way when B transferred out of the infants room. Plus I really liked her teacher in there, too! Luckily, the way her school is set up she still gets to see her constantly and she helped see that her transition was as smooth as could be. I hope the same for N&N - and that you like the new teacher!
Let us know how it goes!

I'll bet they transition easier than mommy does! It is a bittersweet thing though, I understand, and it's too bad that they have to move now and again when their bday comes. I hope you love the new teacher!
