How's your week looking? Just wondering what special things you're doing with the kiddos this week.
I bought a 24 pack of play-doh last week. They have had the best time with it. It's brought hours and hours of joy for them and peace for me. Lily and Claire started tennis lessons yesterday. They really enjoy that. We're going to spend the day with my mom tomorrow. We're all going to tour the Ford Estate for free. (Our libraries have a whole series of free museum passes you can get. ) Yesterday we all went to our neighbor's funeral. It was such a celebration of his life! Today, we're going to hang out and catch up.

Today I'm taking Jacob to the doctor at 11:15. I've been doing some work from home this morning...of course with grumpy boy on my lap.
At least he's eating...he ate a banana and a nutrigrain bar. He's stools are normal too, so that is a good thing. He wants milk and mean old mommy won't let him have any yet.
We have finally scheduled our vacation week. We are taking off Aug. 10-14 and taking the boys out of daycare. We are allowed one free week a year...so it will save us some money. I'll probably work a couple of days, but the rest of the time we are going to do some fun things around town. I'm hoping my dad will be available to watch Jacob part of the time...as I'm not sure he'd have fun at Six Flags and the water park. Well, he might, but it would limit us on what we could do...so it will be easier to leave him with Poppy. But with my grandparents' health we'll just have to play that by ear.
I'm saying prayers that the rest of our family stays well. We have a fun picnic with swimming planned for Saturday and I'd hate for them to miss it.
My Papa might be able to go home today...waiting on the doctors to let us know. That will make it easier on my dad and his brothers because they will just need one of them to stay at the house...right now one has to stay at the hospital with Papa and one has to stay with Haha at the house since she just had surgery herself.
Thank y'all for all your support yesterday. Sometimes it really does help just to have someone understand and listen. It warms my heart knowing I can count on y'all.

Wow Verena, what a wonderful trip!! So glad you are able to stay 3 weeks so you can have a nice, long visit.
This week, John is going to Zoo Camp with a couple of neighbor kids. Somehow it worked out that one neighbor is taking them and the other neighbor mom is picking them up and I am just a moocher, lol. So I gave each of them a $25 gas card so I hope that makes it up to them. My work schedule just didn't allow for the drop off pick up times, but I am so glad John is getting to go since he seems to really be enjoying it. Also, this week is the last week of John's Library Reading program. Has has read 40 books this summer! I am really proud of him, and he will be getting a special present. He thinks that he want the Discovery "smart animals" thing with some dinosaurs - but you never know, at the last minute he will probably change his mind and go for 50 hot wheels or something, lol.Betsy

Still just trying to hang in there over here. Crossing my fingers that a job opening comes my way; I go onto job posting sites every day, which is driving my kids nuts.
Yesterday my friend invited us to come swimming with her and her kids at their neighborhood pool so we had fun doing that.
This weekend we're going to north GA to Greg's friend's family cabin. It's a private gated community with a small lake (dock and beach) and we're bringing the girls with us this time. I'm really looking forward to it.
Monica, while I love play-doh I can't trust my girls with it.
I make them take it outside and they still make a mess with it. Drives me crazy, so I've made an executive decsion to not allow it in the house anymore. And don't even get me started with Moon sand!
Verena, hope you have a blast!Sara

I can't do the play-doh thing either - my kids are too messy, too. I figure that's why they go to school!

Today we're hanging around the house in the morning but this afternoon I'm hoping to take them to try a new water park that's about 20 minutes away. It just opened in May but it's managed by the neighboring county so it's not very expensive.
Tomorrow we'll go to my mom's to go swimming. I think that's all we have going on this week! Sunday Campbell has the Open House for the Girl Scout camp she's attending next week. (Day camp)

Ohhh...I think I have to plant my tulip bulbs that I got from Holland. They are trying to sprout even though I have kept then in a cool place. I looked on line and said you can plant at anytime and the package says to plant them right away. Not looking forward to that...I hate playing in dirt...I'm too prissy for that, lmao!
Also have a chance to go to the Crue Fest tonight....hmmmm...should I or shouldn't I. I do like Motley Crue!!
K's Nintendo DS arrived yesterday. We ordered it for her upcoming birthday. We are letting her play with it already...hope that isn't a mistake!
She is loving it though!! Kind of a slow week here just kind of kicking back! Its fine though...we all need this sometimes!!
Verena...have a fabulas trip, INDEED!
Take lots of pictures!
Say hi to the Queen for me!!

Verena - Have a fantastic time. Sure wish I could go along!

Laura - buy a bulb planter. You'll love how easy it is and you really don't have to get dirty at all.
Stacey - let us know what the dr says.Monica

I think mine came from KMart, but I think WalMart would have them too. Here's what one looks like.
