Question PCOS and IUI?

Hello everyone, I am new here, but I am glad to find such a large forum where I can come and talk about what is going on with me with people who understand. Anyway I have a long fertility story but I just wanted to share what is going on at this point in my journey. I have pcos and I just finished my first round of clomid cd 3-7 50mg on 10/03 had a hcg trigger shot on cd 12 I had two good follicles one at 17 and one at 20.....I was extremely afraid I did not ovulate, I called the RE office and the nurse told me that the HCG trigger shot brings on ovluation almost 99% of the time. She told me to just relax and lets wait and see if I get a BFP or if AF starts. Well this has been a long week and I have one more to go! I can't test until Friday and I am over analyzing everything!! Its crazy. So while I am waiting for my BFP I am thinking ahead about what other treatments may be more successful, just in case...Do any of you know if I responded well to the clomid treatment if it would increase my chances if I have an IUI done vs the old fashioned way? I am thinking this may be the way I go, but I wanted to see if anyother PCOSers had luck this route...Thanks, sorry such a long post.

I think IUI always has a better chance than the old fashioned way...

I have PCOS and am doing IUI (with injectibles...clomid and femara didn't work for me) in about 3 weeks time...good luck to both of us! (hopefully you won't have to even worry about this because you'll get a BFP this month!)

I also think IUI has better chance than natural. I am doing IUI and follistim in January or so.

Hi and welcome!! If I really thought about it I would say IUI would be better than just regular BMS. It kind of cuts out some traveling time if you know what I mean. Waiting is so hard and I remember over analyzing EVERYTHING too. I hope this next week goes by fast! Keep us updated!

Good Luck! We always were natural, so I have no experience with the iui.

I was told there is very little difference when there are no cervix or cm issues. We had it because my cervix is very high (probably from scarring) and even with IUI the doctor had a hard time reaching it!

good luck
Jessica
