when to opk?

Hi girls! its been awhile since i have posted here. hope everyone is doing great!! I have a question about when i should start opking. i have been on a diet since april trying to lose some weight. my dr said sometimes weight loss can help with ttc. so far i have lost 45 lbs and it seems to be helping af. i had af in dec then i didnt have it again until may, i did a clomid cycle in may(bfn) and got af in june, then i got af on my own july 29th!!!! i was soooo excited. i havent gotten af enough in my life to know what my normal cycle length is so my question is when do u think i should start opking this cycle? i had a 45 day cycle this time so im thinking if i o'd on my own it was late in the cycle. today is cd15 and i have 7 tests. i got the smiley face ones this time so i wouldnt have to try and read those stupid lines lol! next month i am planning on using my monitor again and i think i will start temping. so what do you girls think?? thanks

What is your average cycle length? What about LP?

I tend to O at cd 18.. but then this cycle may have been as late as cd23!! My CBFM was being serviced so I couldnt use it and was a mess...lol...

DO you have any good signs to follow? Could you buy some cheap dollar store brand to check it out prior?

I TOTALLY HATE reading those lines too... lol

the cruddy thing is i havent had af enough to even know my average cycle length. i went so many yrs with only having 1 af a yr. not really sure about my LP either

ive tried to check my cm but i guess i am completely clueless about that too lol. last cycle it seemed like my cm was ewcm and looked like maybe i was about to o but then i started af 9 days later. Why oh why does this have to be soooo complicated?? i wont be going back to the dr until october. at least he will be super excited about my weightloss

Hmmmm.... I dunnnooo...

when I had only a few sticks.. I spaced them out.. so if it was really light I would wait a few more days... BUT you have different sticks.

Doing a 45 day cycle and counting back to 14 then 7 is about cd 24.. but that could be toooooo late...

I wouldnt start any later than cd 13... but then you may miss it with only 7 sticks.

I will keep thinking...
