Is this normal for PCOS?
So I've had 3 ultrasounds this week...its my first cycle with the RE so they're using this cycle just to check things out I guess...anyway, its CD14 today and my follicles (12+ on each side) are still at 0.7mm (they've been the same for the whole week) and my lining was thickening but has been at something like 5.7 for the past 5 days or so...is this normal with PCOS, that they follicles aren't growing and the lining isn't continuing to thicken? Or is this something maybe in addition to the PCOS?

Yes, totally normal for PCOS. With PCOS you typically ovulate later in your cycle or in my case not at all. If you ovulate later than CD 14 then those follies sound about right to me as well as the uterine lining not be thick. Are you going back for any more u/s to see if you are just headed to ovulate later in your cycle? Even on medicine I never ovulated before CD 18 or so! Update us when you can!

I ovulated around cd17 last month with Clomid and an hcg trigger shot. This month the Clomid didn't work so no ovulation. My follicles grew to about 11mm but then stopped growing but my lining continued to thicken to the normal level. Now I'm taking a short break and I'll start Clomid again in August/September.
I bought a book called The Infertility Cure that talks about acupuncture and TCM. I let my acupuncturist borrow it and he found a section that discusses PCOS. The book recommended some specific herbs to treat PCOS that I'm taking now. I'm hoping that when I get back into fertility treatments that my u/s will show less immature follicles in my ovaries.

Speaking of herbs. I just thought I would add that the month I got pregnant with Ava and Ethan I had been drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea daily. Not to be confused with just 'raspberry flavored tea'. It is supposed to help with infertility. I don't know for sure of course but it could have been a big contributing factor to me finally getting pregnant. Here is a link so you can see what it is...
