Anyone have problems with Clomid?

My husband and I just started IUI but we've used Clomid before in the past. It seems that it works for us for one, maybe two months but after that it stops working. If we take a break for a few months and go back to it, it will start working again but only for a month or two. My doc says this is common with PCOS patients. It's extremely frustrating that we have to take so many breaks from Clomid. Does anyone else have this problem? I think I'm going to ask to be put on injectibles instead

Yes, I have heard of this happening with Clomid. It didn't happen to me personally but I do know those that it did happen to. Have you tried asking your Dr. about trying Femara before you try injectibles? It is like Clomid, taken on the same CD's but w/o all the side effects of Clomid. It doesn't effect the uterine lining at all. I would talk to your Dr. about it! It worked for me.

I tried Femara with my ex husband and had no luck with it. I think we tried it for about 3 months before giving up. I was also having sporadic luck with Clomid back then which was before I started Femara.

Well I'm not sure what my RE will do as far as continuing taking Clomid but I do know that if we don't conceive with this next cycle (#3), I have to go in for an HSG x-ray. I have heard though of many doctors making women take breaks from Clomid after a few months. It wasn't because of it not working though, in those cases it was because the Clomid was thinning the lining of the uterus.

I have the same dx as you CVP, PCOS and low sperm count.. I did clomid with 2 IUI's but my RE said that with the low sperm count the IUI's weren't going to work.. and they didn't.. we have moved onto IVF, 1st cycle failed. I was on clomid for 4 months and I didn't have a problem with it not working.. I had atleast 1 follicle every month... This probably doesn't help you though..

Well I had an HSG and my tubes were all clear on that. And DH's count has gone up since his last SA. He started taking vitamins and did acupuncture for a month and on our last IUI his count went from 6mil to 18.9mil which they said was great for IUI. However he stopped acupuncture since then and has another SA next week so I hope his count stays the same.

I think if this month doesn't work then I'll ask the doctor to move me to injectibles or a combo of Clomid and injectibles.
