Update .... PG'Ment

Hi everyone .
Sorry it's taken so long to update .

We went to my parents 25th anniversary party last week .
Everything went very well . It was wonderful .
BTW , My evil sister did make a " butt " of herself !!!
Long story ....


On a different note , I had called my OB last Tuesday before we left
On Wednesday . Told them I came down with a cold .
Sore throat , cough . Wanted to know what I could take .
I was told only tylenol , 2 every 6 hours . But by the time the party
came around on saturday , I WAS SO SICK !
Sore throat , migraines , slight fever , severe cough , stuffy nose .
I stuck it out because I was 6 hours from home / my OB .
Then I developed a ear ache ! I still can't hear out of my right ear .
Everything sounds like I'm under water .

On Saturday the day of the party , I started feeling really strange .
My CNA mom and ex paramedic DH checked my blood preasure
and heart rate . My blood preasure was fine , but my HR was 118bpm .
Way high for me ! I'm usually in the 70's - 80's .
I was sent to bed for an hour and checked again . All was well .


Now today I'm back home . Still very sick . So I called my OB .
They wanted me to come in right away to get checked .
I can't until DH gets home around 4pm . They seemed upset about that .
But said then I need to go to the ER as soon as DH is home . HUH ?
They scared me !!! They said I need a culture done / urine test .
Possible blood work and to have the baby checked !!!
WHAT ? I called them last tuesday , I was pretty much told to rough it !
That tylenol and rest was my only defence . Now I need the ER ?

I'm 11w 5d today . And completely freaked out now . It's only 1pm now .
I have quite awhile before DH gets home ! I'm worried and don't know what
to expect . Is my baby OK ???

Hi Everyone
Sorry it took so long to get back on to update . I'm just so tired . I went and checked in at the ER yesterday after DH got home from work . They tested me and I have a severe sinus infection that has spread to both my ears . They put me on a 5 day " Z " pack . I took the first 2 pills last night . I've been resting alot . DH has today and tomorrow off work , so he's been helping me out . I hope I feel better soon . My poor head is going to explode .

As for our baby , he/she is doing well . They checked me at the hospital . Heart rate was 142bpm and everything looked ok . Thank goodness . I was so worried me being sick for the last 10 days might be taking a toll . I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow !!! YAY .

Glad to hear the baby is fine.Hope the Z pack kicks in soon and u get better.It's miserable being sick.Congrats on making it to week 12.

Hi Michele- When I was pg with my twins I was super sick all the time. I had a lot of phlegm (tmi) and headaches, earaches. I kept getting bronchitis. I have a SIL (has 2 sets of twins and is an RN) who told me to take 1 regular Sudafed per day. I asked my pedi and he said it was fine. That is the only thing that saved me! I was sick for 14 weeks before I found out this bit of information.

I would suggest that if yours continues to ask your pedi about Sudafed. It is the regular one, not the PE. You should normally take 2 pills per dose but 1 pill in the morning was all it took. I had taken antibiotics before that but nothing worked.
