PG Mentioned .

I waited like I was suposed to . Still no AF . Couldn't stand the wait anymore and was feeling some mild / moderate anxiety tonight , so I went to the ER . I did pg test . and got a BFP !!! I follow up with my regular PCP tomorrow AM . To the best of my knowing I would be around 8 weeks or a little more . Not sure . I had restarted my Met . about 4 days ago . Hope it's not too late to help prevent m/c . Please pray for us . I'll update later .

Michele

Congratulations Michele! That's such exciting news. You were so sure that you couldn't get pregnant naturally too. I'm so glad that you have had success on your own. I'm sure it's encouraging to those who are TTC.

I know that it's recommended to stay on the Met for at least the first 12 weeks to prevent MC but I had such a hard time taking it at the beginning of my pregnancy due to severe morning sickness that I rarely took it. I'm sure that since you haven't been taking it more than the four days you should still be fine. Your little one should be strong and comfortable where he/she is 8 weeks into your pregnancy.

Just to keep you motivated, I stopped taking Met at 11 weeks and rarely took it after 5 weeks since I just threw it all up anyways (sorry TMI) and I am currently 35 weeks into my pregnancy.

I am praying for you, your DH and your little one. It's always exciting when another PCOSer has success. Keep us updated.

Amanda

Congrats Michele!

I had a hard time taking my met during the early part of my pregnancy due to the morning sickness as well. I ended up just taking half my dose (one at dinner instead of one at breakfast and one at dinner). It seemed to help somewhat. I stopped it altogether at week 13. People warned me I would gain a ton of weight when I stopped taking it, but that wasn't the case at all. I also passed my one hour glucose test with flying colors. I'm currently 28 weeks and other than work related blood pressure issues, things have been going well.

Good luck and keep us posted!

A lot of drs recommend taking Met for the first 12 weeks with PCOS to prevent m/c. It's still kind of controversial some say take it some say don't

Met has been found to help prevent m/c in women with PCOS. Some Dr. have their patients take it the entire pregnancy and some have them take it until around 13 weeks or so. My RE had me take it until around 15 weeks when I was pregnant with Ava and Ethan.

Ferret Mommy - My RE told me I could stop around week 10, but I continued until week 13 for my own piece of mind. I do know of some women who are diagnosed with GD that start taking it when they are pregnant to help with the sugar levels. I guess it is a personal issue. Since I had already been through 1 miscarriage, I had no problems on using the met, to try and avoid having to go down that path again.

Update ...

Had my first Doctors Appointment today at 1pm . Did a book of paper work . And 6 huge viles of blood taken . I mean HUGE ! lol ..... So far all blood work has come back ok . Not sure how high my beta number was , but they said I'm 9 1/2 weeks along and my first ultrasound is May 7th at 1:30pm . Doctor feels like everything is well and good with nothing to worry about . Started my vitimins 2 days ago . Still on 1000mg of Met daily . All symptoms normal I guess . I'm so happy yet very cautious . Still 2 1/2 weeks til second trimester . Still feel in the danger zone ! That might sound strange . I don't know . Please ladies pray for us . And can I stay here on the PCOS board ? Or do I move on ? I'd like to stay here if I can . Thank you all so much for your congrats and well wishes and prayers . I'm in need of a nap lol .... I'll update more when I can .

Michele
