PCOS Question(pg and children ment)

Hi Ladies!

I really hoping to get some information from you guys. I was wondering, is it possible to have PCOS occur later in life. I'm 34 and went through three years of infertility treatments before having my twin boys. I've had a lot of tests while I went through all the IF stuff and PCOS was never mentioned or not an issue.

But, as of the last several months, I've had some issues that seem to have a lot of symptoms of PCOS. I'm having an endimetrial biopsy tomorrow, but I'm wondering if it's even possible to have PCOS at this point, or if I'm just grasping at straws.

Any insight would be really appreciated!

Thanks!
Kar

Honestly, anything is possible.

I "think" that PCOS is becoming more known, so that is why we all know about it now.

It all goes back to hormones. PCOS is a hormal imbalance and for sure after having children, your hormones can totally change. I know my have. Hey, even my eyes got better AFTER my ds.. lol

Google PCOS.. there is alot of information out there. I hope you find your answers!!!

Thanks for your reply. I've definitely had my hormones out of whack for awhile, but wasn't sure if looking in the PCOS direction was even possible at this point. I think I'll definitely bring it up with my doc tomorrow though.

Thanks!

Kar - I was diagnosed with PCOS last year when I was 32. Although I do suspect that I've had it longer due to really irregular cycles. My previous ob, never really wanted to look into the issue and just said some women are like that and put me on birth control until we were ready to start a family. I eventually left that doctor and my new ob/gym refered me to a RE pretty much right away when I explained about my cycles. An ultrasound and lots of bloodwork later, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I don't have all of the classic symptoms like being overweight or excess hair, but it still was the diagnosis given to me. When my RE started treating me for the PCOS I was able to concieve, so I tend to believe she was right.

Good luck!

Dawn
