Anyone know of success stories with Clomid+hCG injection?
Hello, I'm new. My story: DH and I have been married nearly 6 years. TTC naturally last two years. No period for 1.5 years after coming off pill. Saw ob/gyn, now on 2nd cycle of Clomid. Today is CD 13. Tomorrow (CD 14) I will have an ultrasound and if there are mature follicles I'll receive an hCG shot that will make me ovulate within 24-48 hours.
Has anyone heard of success stories with this treatment? I am not having an IUI. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Pajrsgirl. Welcome to the board. First, I hope your stay here is short and that you get to move on to the other board.
You can check out this post: http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/foru...d.php?t=485034 I did use clomid (150mg) and a trigger with my first. My son is now 2. We had ttc with him for 3 1/2 yrs. I did however also have an IUI to get pg. The 2nd time around, I used clomid (50mg) no hcg and no IUI. We got pg but it ended in miscarriage about 9wks. However, I was able to do it on clomid. Hope this helps a little. Check out the other post and I'm sure others on here will be responding soon. Lots of luck to you. Wishing you good vibes for a perfect next few days.

Thanks!
Tweetyb: Thanks for the kind words and encouragement...I need them!!
I'm so nervous for my u/s. It's today at 10am. Last night, I couldn't sleep, so I called someone I knew would be awake and talked to them for about an hour. It helped. I felt that they would tell me today that I can't have children. I've been praying all night long and this morning as I woke up. I'm feeling so much better about it, and am kind of excited! I am not feeling the side effects that I had last month with the Clomid, so that makes me nervous...like it's not working. I'm only on the 50mg for this 2nd cycle. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll post an update later, Thanks for the encouragement, Misty |

My appointment today
Hi ladies,
The ultrasound showed no mature follicles. Mature is 2cm in size, mine were all no larger than 1cm. So, doc wants to double the dose of Clomid to 100mg and keep me peeing on sticks for O. I'm going mad peeing on sticks. It becomes an obsession when you constantly get negatives. Some days, I do it twice because I think that maybe the next test I take will come back positive. Then its just that much more heartwrenching. Anyhow, the u/s showed no other concerns, and my uterus is fine. The u/s did confirm PCOS for me, as I have all the symptoms and an u/s to confirm the cysts. So, looking on the bright side there are no other reasons right now that I'm not pregnant, except for PCOS.

I went thru that. When ttc #1, I was on clomid on and off for 3 yrs. I didn't O with 50 mg, so I was bumped up to 100-still didn't O so went up to 150mg. I ovulated, tubes were clear, uterus was fine...all was good but I just wasn't getting pg.
Finally went to RE, Nov '03 did clomid (150mg), hgc trigger, and IUI-BFN. Dec '03 same thing, clomid, trigger and IUI-BFP. My son is now 2 For #2, tried for 3 months on our own, no O nothing (which was expected since I don't O on my own and don't have regular cycles.) Went to OB, was prescribed prometrium to have cycle, then did 50mg clomid on days 3-7, regular bms (baby making sex) and got a BFP. Always expect the unexpected! We never thought we'd be able to do it that fast and easily but it happened. It will work for you. You just have to find what works. Keep us posted

Want to keep an eye on this thread. I'm expecting next month to start 200 mg clomid w/ HCG shot (I'm taking 2000 mg metformin on my own right now). At least that's what I think the ob will prescribe. I have one son who is 7. He was conceived on my second round of clomid 150 mg (I think) and BMS. Since then we've tried several times w/ clomid only and never ovulated. It's been over 2 years since we've even thought about trying. This will be it, it will either happen or not. I think we're going to try OBGYN for 2 times and move on to RE if it doesn't happen. Don't want to waste too much time w/ OB but want to try to save a few $ if possible.

Hey, I just wanted to say that sometimes clomid can cause your cycle to be a little longer than the average 14 days until O; and my doc has always said that anything over 16 mm (1.6 cm) is mature, though they like to see the follies closer to 18 mm (1.8 cm). Follies can grow 2 mm per day, and if you were at 10 mm (1.0 cm) 3 days ago at your u/s, you could be close to having a mature follie now. You may even want to ask your doc for a follow-up u/s on Monday -- it might show that you did O, or might show a mature follie and you could get the HCG trigger. Either way, I would definitely be BMS'ing this weekend!
BTW -- I have another success story. My DD was conceived on 100 mg clomid and HGC trigger!

I was on 1500 of met/glucophage and went through some months of 50 & 100 clomid, no mature follicles. Then my first month on 150 clomid, the follicles looked good, did the HCG & IUI, & got a BFP! DD is now over a year old.
By the time I tried the 150, I had lost about 20-25 pounds, so that may have helped the clomid & metformin be more effective, though I was normal weight to begin with. If you do get to the point of having big enough follicles, go for the IUI, even if it costs more. I had 3 good looking follies and only one "took" after the IUI, but that number might have been 0 if we didn't do the extra step. I'm about to start trying for #2 and will be wishing the best for everyone. Good luck! |

I tried 5 cycles of Clomid with no ovulation (50 mg 3 times and 100 mg twice). This was over a period of 8 months or so b/c since I never ovulated, my cycle would go on and on until I would take Provera to bring on AF and then start again.
My OB did not usually prescribe 150 mg but I begged to try it just once before being referred to a specialist and now we have a 5 month old DS
