How do you know it's Diabetes?

I have a question,I have had cystics overies and not been offically diagnosed w/PCOS but I have a lot of symptoms. My GYN did a U/S and put me Yasmine BCPs since I had a huge cyst on my right overie. Little did I know that dh would not have insurance on me for a whole year(happily we are nearing the end of that year). I have been off and on the BCPs this year and now I am having extream pain on the left side and heavy spotting-that has stopped for now but not the pain.
Also I am feeling very strange from time to time.
I am just curious what the symptoms of Diabetes is?
Thanks a lot,
ToriaV1

It usually symptoms like having to pee alot, always being thirsty even after drinking, and always being hungry....to a lesser degree fatigue, weight loss, blurry vision. BUT many people with Type 2 don't have these symptoms and some people who are IR but not diabetic yet do have these. Kind of a toss up. Another clue is that diabetics are more prone to UTIs and yeast infections.Really the only way to know it getting bloodwork done. Or you could even go out and get one of those cheap at home blood glucose monitors ( I got one at Target for like $15 or something not including test strips) and test your blood yourself throughout the day if going to the doctor is not an option right now.

I get really paranoid about the symptoms of diabetes....I am ALWAYS fatigued and sometimes I feel like a have to pee a ton....but my bloodwork says no and when I check my own at home it's normal.
