Newbie

I have had 3 missed miscarriges in the last 1.5 year, I saw a heartbeat on all and then no heartbeat between 6-8 weeks. I have had blood tests done and everything fine except increased hormones (Eg testosterone), ob had diagnosed pcos. He has put me on 100mg asprin per day (dont understand as I dont have a clotting disorder), and said when I get pregnant again he will put me on hormones. I am so confused as most of the sites for pcos deal with not ovulating and not many with just hormone problems, (I understand the 2 are related). Has anyone had a similar situation to me.Also othes have said that they are on meds befor they get pregnant, why will I just be on hormones after I get pregnant. I am 33 and have a 14 year old son, I am remarried and my husband and I are desperate to have a baby. Could someone please help me understand what hormones he may put me on and explain why I seem to be different to most other pco's stories
Thankyou for listening

Some doctors believe that being on Metformin and progesterone supplements help PCOS patients with miscarrage issues. I'm on Metformin XR 1500 mg and will be on Progesterone in Oil after my IVF procedure.

I had my first IVF done in Germany and was on progesterone suppositories for 8 weeks.

I've never been on asprin, but I know some women are on baby asprin as part of their program.

I also have elevated testerone levels. Mine are around 108.

Do you think it will be ok that I have not been put on Metformin, I think my insulin and glucose levels were ok. I just dont want to risk a 4th miscarriage. I have another 7 days until af is due, heres hoping that it doesnt come, i get a bfp and give birth to a happy healthy baby this time.
Does anyone know if the hormones the ob is talking about are tablet form or are they all suppositories. Sorry I am asking a lot of questions but I have no clue what is happening or what will happen. The ob is not the easiest person to get in contact with, and it is always when you leave the office, after shock of being told i have pcos, that all of the questions come to me. I will write them down this time

Hi and welcome to the board, i don't know much about your situation, but I was on 2000mg of metformin to get pregnant with my son, and tapered myself down to 1500mg, then 1000mg, and down to 500mg a day till I was 5 months. I then discontinued it because my instead of having m/s in my first trimester I had it in my second and 3rd, and it wasnt in the morning, it was mostly at night. I had read and seen too many cases where people especially with PCOS m/c without it, so I was scared, and kept taking it. I had a healthy pregnancy, and I dont know if the metformin makes your placenta thicker or what but it took 3 people to break my water and still ended up having a c-section at 9 months 1 week and 2 days...what a long pregnancy! It was the best I ever felt in my life though! I now have a 19 month old boy who is the love of my life!
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and hope you get everything you wish for!

Considering your diagnosis of PCOS and your recurrant miscarriages I think you should ask for a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.

Good luck!
