Question WEIGHT LOSS & METFORMIN

Has anyone lost a lot of weight on Metformin alone?
I've gone from 158 to 132 since Late October/Early November. (I am 5'-7")
I am exercising the same as I always have been...
After I FINALLY got over the nausea and poops I've found myself hungry all the time, but only able to eat small portions of food at any one sitting... maybe my stomach shrank? Maybe it's that I have more energy?

Anyways.. should I be concerned... or is this ok?

to you all-
Jennifer

I'm a fellow PCOS gal, Who just got back on Fortamet (extended release, LOVE IT).
I took it before my IVF (glucophage) and thru my 1st trimester of pg.
I've just noticed (actually dh) that while @ our favorite Thai dinner spot
we are taking home leftovers we usually don't have anything left.
This has happend twice in the last few weeks. I'm not eating as much
in 1 sitting as before. I'm not overweight to begin with but I've noticed a
change too.

My dr told me weightloss is a side affect of met

I'm taking it priot to my FET to help reduce the risk of m/c (again)

Take Care,

PGDMommy

My doc gave me Met and told me women lose weight on it because it makes them feel nauseated (sp?). I have been on it for about 2 months. I have lost about 15 lbs, which isn't much cause I am already overweight. I do tend to want sweets more often. Like PDG, I take it to prevent mc, but didn't work this time.

I've only been on met about 3 weeks I think, but I thought I was kinda crazy with the being full thing, it seems like I can't eat near as much now, if I do I feel super full like almost to the point of being sick, I don't get sick to my stomach at all when I'm on it it's the extended release kind which is nice I guess I was super worried about that. But anyway I've lost like 3 or 4 pounds maybe in the past few weeks, not a ton, but a little, I exercise but not as much as I should and I haven't watched what I've been eating, so I dunno if it's the met, or my little bit of exercise

Hi

I've lost about 24lbs since january (when i started met) and i havent really changed much of anything that i was doing. I believe firmly that its because my insulin levels arent so high and packing on the pounds now like before. My dr is thrilled and keeps asking me what im doing lol...I tell her nothing that i wasnt doing before. Just goes to show that hormones have a LOT to do with weight gain sometimes. Its not a fast lost, but i dont care. First time that i can say that im not worried about gaining back because im not doing anything special to lose it. I really need to start exercising just for health reasons.
