Darkprincess~
THANK YOU!! ![]() Honestly, we have been trying for 8 years. However, almost 5 years ago, I got so bitter and tired of crying and the negative cycles, we put our money in adoption. We got a little man out of it.- we were there for his birth. -- I love that little guy! BUT... I got the itch again to have my own. We started trying again in Feb of 2005. Started with the Glucophage and this past month introdcued the clomid. We were on the 100 mgs of clomid and it worked for us! Hugs, Amy |

Hey Kim!
Before we adopted I tried three cycles of clomid. (50 mg, 100 mgs and 150 mgs) - NOTHING!- Not even ovulation. Hence the bitterness! lol So... when we started trying the beginning of this year, thats when they put me on the Glucophage. I see that you are taking it. I wish you the best on it. I was sick for about two weeks. I was sick to my stomach but that soon faded. Hugs, Amy |

Hey Kim.... Girl, this sounds soo much like me. I never felt anything while just on clomid. However on the Glucophage... I definitely felt something going on down there!
AND... yes, I have read posts that you CAN get pregnant with just the Gluco/Met alone! Yeah!! Hugs, Amy~ |

I also have PCOS and diabetes. I've been on 1000mg of metformin/glucophage since Sept of 04. It took some months, but I'm ovulating on my own with just the Met! I starting having normal cycles in Nov. and O'ing in March....my doc just told me to be patient after bugging her for Clomid.
I'm glad I was! I'm now in the 2ww/6dpo and it's KILLING me. Good luck to all of you!!

Amy - congratulations! That's so great!!! and don't be a stranger on this board - people need to hear about your success, and there are new folks all the time.
Kim/Goldie - my advice would be to track BBT so you know when you've ovulated. It can be a very helpful piece of info to have. I monitor with BBT, OPK and the Clearplan monitor (since my LH levels are normal now, on metformin!). I really count on all that monitoring to know if we had BMS on the right days. (and, if you want another miracle story, nearly five years ago I conceived my dd on metformin alone, after several failed ivfs). bella85 - if you're having normal cycles, and O-ing in a reasonable timeframe, adding clomid can do more harm than good (to the cervical fluid and uterine lining), so I agree with your doc, don't be in a hurry to add it. Keep tracking your cycle! -eaglet ![]() p.s. for those interested, I am increasing my dose from 1000 mg metformin ER to 1500mg, per RE's instructions, because I have been O-ing late in the cycle. I am also taking vitamin B-12, Folic Acid, a multivitamin, low-dose aspirin and now lovenox (for clotting issues, unrelated to PCOS). We'll see.... it's only cd 3, LOL. DH has already asked me twice when he needs to do his part, LOL, in planning his travel schedule for work - encouragement from an unlikely source, LOL. (hey Pickles, yes, let's get that thread going that you were talking about!! I'm going to need support this cycle!!) |
