Clomid and Multiples?

I stopped the BCP at the beginning of Feb and am waiting to see if I get AF by myself.....My doc said that if I dont get AF, that I should come in and get provera and Clomid....My question is this - does anyone know what the % rate of multiple births is with clomid? I'm nervous ! My mother is a fraternal twin and my father is an identical twin (I tell them that they are very mean ! haha) So I am wondering if I will have twins or more ! Anyone have a good website or anything with the stats for clomid?

Thanks guys, I am so excited about starting TTC again !

I can't remember, but I think the percentage is written in the literature that comes with the prescription. Maybe if you look hard on-line you can find it. (or just do a search on clomid and multiples, or something)

THere is a person with pcos on one of the other boards who got pg with two sets of multiples from clomid.

The identical twin aspect should not increase your chances of twins. The fraternal might.

My dad is a fraternal twin. It's nice that I have an answer when people ask me if twins run in my family (I have twins from ivf).

When I was on clomid, I usually did have more than one mature follicle.

I have a theory that people with pcos are sort of predisposed to having fraternal twins - since there is often a problem of having no single dominant follicle, if everything were to go just right maybe two might mature. But that's just a theory

What about an insulin sensitizer like metformin? Why not try that first? (it worked for me, all by itself, after 6 failed clomid cycles and 4 failed ivfs, when we were ttc#1)

Good luck and please keep us updated!
