MAMA bear came out today!!!

GRR! we went on a field trip to a state forest with a bug exhibit. We also went hiking around from building to building as it is a state historice site for logging etc.

On the front porch of each place (school, ferrier,(sp?)dorm, etc) we went to the store front and my talkative son talked to the man and the man was nice. The next place was a an old home. A-man went up asked the ladies what this building was...I can't remember what they said to us but when we were out of earshot (or so THEY thought) One lady said meanly use your brain and READ kid. I saw RED. DH laughed at how fast I marched back out there and said "my sons brain works differently"...and I walked off. Well I'm not sure if they thought I was joking with my comment but they laughed after I left at what I said. THEN....dh marched out there (btw ds didn't hear them or know what we were doing although dd figured it out and was sad) He told them that our son had a disability. That stopped them silent although they didn't apologize.

We also later filled out a questionair about our visit (mostly positive except for these biddies) and talked to someone about it. Would you all have been mad??

No, although I COMPLETELY understand, I wouldn't have been mad. Would just have to chalk this up to DHAC. BUT maybe with your response those hussies WILL think the next time they spew verbal poo!!!!

You did what any protective parent would have done. I have done something similar in a different situation. I don't regret what I did. I hope the person thinks twice before she does what she did that day. *HUGS*
