Tricia, your recap brought tears to my eyes and then when I scrolled down, saw the pics and read their stats, I smiled from ear to ear. Congratulations on such an amazing journey. Your babies are perfect - absolutely perfect. I want to post the same when mine are a year this May. I want my story to be as inspirational and heart-warming as yours. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I am so honored and happy!!!

B - Yes, May will be here before you know it!!
M&M - Thought you might like my theme
Sorry your LO got RSV, that had to be scary. Mine have been part of an RSV clinic since Oct. Every 4wks they get preventative shots (one in each leg). I have hated it but now I really see why it's been worth it. They said they will most definately be getting the next one (in 3wks) and usually the one after that is canceled.
Will be back - have to run.

Tricia, is your insurance covering the shots? I'm assuming it's Synagis? L had them last year, but it wasn't covered this year and I'm sure you know how astronomical they are!
We almost went ahead and paid for them but then my pedi thought he'd be ok and boom..RSV. Luckily he did very, very well and never had an oxygen dip. They told us if he had caught it 6m earlier it would have been really bad, so we were fortunate that he was strong enough to handle it as a full term baby would have. He also got 2 ear infections along with the RSV and that was actually worse. I felt really bad because he never once tugged his ears or cried or did anything to indicate the infections, so I was stunned! I guess it's pretty typical from the drainage of the congestion though. Now I know!

M&M - I remember that our LO's are basically the same age with the adjustment. Within days right?
Yes - I have Kaiser and they don't even charge me an office visit fee I don't think. It's part of their "clinic" they call it. In spite of that though - Mikayla is sick again but this time with a fever?? Runny nose and then BAM a fever that keeps coming in the evenings. They just saw the Pedi for their 1yr. appointment on Monday and she had the runny nose and then Tues. she got the fever. I started worrying that she got RSV anyway or another UTI but the fever is not staying steady or as high as last time - and she does have all the cold symptoms. He checked her ears, ect. on Monday. I can only imagine how expensive the shots are every 4wks. They said they should get one more in the beginning of March and the April one is usually canceled. They said they are "watching" the trend this year (guess they watch it like the flu). I don't know if they are eligable next year or not?
Oh - and my stats are a little off. The girls are 29 & 30" long! Weight about the same - every new place has a slightly different weight (less a lb here, more a lb there). How did the girls get so big???

My girls just went for their 5th and what I thought would be their last Synagis injections. The dr. told me the county is on high alert which means insurance approves another round. We have had to pay oop due to the new calendar year and we haven't met our max yet so it's been $2800 for a couple of months now - YIKES.
Both girls have snotty noses right now, but the dr saw them Monday and said their lungs are clear -- so far. I am petrified.B
