What's new?

So how is everyone doing? What's new? Updates?

Our lives have been busy....Lindsay is doing great! Getting ready to finish up her junior year! Last night was her Junior Prom! I didn't get any decent pictures, but did order professional ones so will post those when they come! She is doing great in school...made the A honor roll for the third quarter. She's still working at our local grocery store and deli....so between work, school, and the boyfriend we don't see a whole lot of her!

We are waiting for our weather to straighten out her in Minnesota. It seems that winter doesn't want to let go...had another snow storm Friday night. DH is getting impatient to start planting corn...we are almost two weeks behind at this point...

I have my flower beds and garden cleaned out, but am in no hurry to plant. It seems once again my body is misbehaving and now my gallbladder has stop working properly! I'm having surgery early in May....so no gardening for a while....grrrr!

So what have the rest of you been up to?? Looking forward to hearing some updates!!!

Wow, prom already! Can't wait to see pics!

It has been busy here. I'm switching jobs within my school, from middle school (which I've loved) to 4th/5th grade. The middle school is restructuring itself and there's not an obvious place for a generalist. Before I had Ryan, I would have moved myself into the stand-alone 6th grade, but that requires creating a brand-new curriculum for it, and I don't have time for that this year/next year.

Meanwhile, Ryan will be attending our local public school next year. They evaluated him and have some excellent ideas for how to make his school life a happier one. (Our IEP meeting is next week.) We feel really happy that they "get" him and are on the ball. We won't tell Ryan until the last week of school, however -- he doesn't LIKE school, but loves his friends dearly and will miss seeing them daily. I think that last week of school is going to be a hard one. (Not to mention the change of not being in the same school as my son, which was sometimes tough but often wonderful...)

The students are getting wired with good weather (well, not so much this weekend and for the next few days) and only a little more than a month of school ahead. I'm looking forward to summer.

I've been thinking a lot about this board and how glad I am it exists. We are pretty much near the end of our ttc #2 journey, and it makes me happy that there are others here who have one wonderful child.

We have been busy with our up coming move. Dh has been travelling back and forth here one week there the next. Selling the house, keeping it looking unlived in was a full time job. I'm thankful the dh's company is paying for the movers to pack and ship everything because if it was my job I would probably try to sell everything garage sale style then buy new. We haven't found a house to buy in the new location and trying to schedule trip to do that is becoming interesting to say the least.

Ds is doing well at school, he would be doing much better if he didn't "forget" to hand in assignments. This year has been really good for him, he has one teacher in particular who really appreciates him and the feeling is mutual. That makes such a BIG difference. The funny thing is that this is the US History teacher and we are Canadian, his teacher calls him Canada all the time, I wonder if the irony of my Canadian son being the best student in his US history class makes the teacher laugh at all? Ds has gotten the highest test score on several tests. This is his last year of middle school, I can't believe how my baby is growing.
