Mine will be different than most.
Cloth diapers. We used them on our singleton and on our twins. They were too tiny to fit in them at first The price and the trash can filled with the disposies confirmed our decision to cloth diaper. Breasts. Breastfeeding is the natural, most healthy way for babies to eat. The immunity benefits are incalculable. Because of breastfeeding, our ped let us get the babies out in public sooner. A water bottle for mommy. To keep hydrated for breastfeeding. The floor. A great place for them to lay safely, roll, scoot, play, and crawl. Snugglies. Dh and I would each have one in the snuggly. Or I put one in and carried the other. Or put one in and other in the grocery cart. Of course we had carseats too. Bouncy seats were great for napping, and they loved to look at each other while in them. I have one other item, here is the picture. Eventualy we had 2 of these cars. They loved them well beyond age 2.

Very individual, but will be interesting to see what responses you get. In no particular order:
* A wrap sling - we actually had two, and there were times when this was the only way to get them to sleep. Also, very handy for carrying two babies at once - one in the sling, the other held, and you still have a hand free. * clothes dryer - we are trying to cut back on using it now, but it was a life saver in the first year (we bought it toward the end of my pg). Not only did it save us from running out of anything, but we were too sleep-deprived and harried to start pegging tiny baby clothes out on the line one at a time. * baby seats - we had two of these too - the boys liked sitting in them, and I had my hands free for other things (or other baby) * a good stroller - we had (still have actually) the twinsavvy one by babysafe, which I love - it fits through all the important doorways, is easy to steer with one hand, incredibly light, and I didn't have to think twice about leaving the house with them. * A large foam playmat (see mine here). Big enough that we used a regular duvet cover as a replacement cover for it. Room for two babies and parent to sit/lie on without them falling onto the floor every two seconds. Particularly useful for us as we have tiled floors throughout the apartment. As I say, these are very individual - some MOMs will have had no use at all for some or all of these items. Rachel |
