Two questions: How can I get rid of this nasty bug floating around in my house? In the last 2 and a half weeks S has had it THREE times, R twice, and dh twice. H and I are evidently immune. Poor dh! He had it last night. I had a late meeting today and he hates thursdays anyway because it is our laundry day and long for him. My meeting ran long. I thought it would only be about 45 min and it took over two hours. I called after about an hour and he was very grumpy because S had just puked (AGAIN) all over the sofa and floor. So......how can I get this bug outta here? Judging from the smell, he lysolled everything.
AND......any ideas what to do to make it up to dh?? What would you sahm's want if it were you? This is going to be the third weekend in a row we can't do anything and it is getting REALLY old!

Although I haven't any ideas for you, I sure will be hoping that your family get's over that nasty bug quickly! I can't immagine it going around the same household so many times, but sometimes these things can linger on taking a while to get over completely. Relapses are frustrating & I too would have a hard time w/the puking. I remember the October that my kids were 2 yrs. old when we were all sick w/colds for the entire month. 30 days of over the counter meds every 3 hrs. I think this is when my kids became addicted to wanting daily medications.
PS: I know what my dh would want that always makes everything better. That would probably not be what I would want as a make up though. We are so different it's not even funny!

Oh man, I hope they are all better soon! I would ditch all the toothbrushes and get new ones, I would replace them again once everyone stays healthy for a week or so. I would use lysol on everything, I would also use the clorox clean up wipes and wipe down everything you can think of. I would wash all the sheets, pillow cases, blankets in hot water. I would basically clean everyhting in the house as well as I could.
For your DH, I know what mine would like too, but with the flu going around probably isn't the best idea anyway. How about a movie and let him just lay in bed for a few hours by himself and watch a movie? I would love to have DH order me to my room for a few uninterupted hours of sleep and me time!Becky

We dealt with this over x-mas. I threw away all the toothbrushes and pillows, bought new ones. I washed all the bed linens in HOT water. Aired out the bedrooms during the day and turned little heaters on to warm them back up for bedtime (it was like 20 degrees out when I aired them...
). I sprayed lysol on everything that couldn't be washed. Whatever could went into the laundry or the dishwasher (many toys can go in the dishwasher). Boil sippy cup valves (or dishwasher) and any paci's nipples.
As for Dh, I think he needs a night out by himself - or if he doesn't want to go out alone, let him have an evening to himself. I LOVE it when Dh comes home and says, "the evening is yours." I curl up in bed and read or take a relaxing bath, watch a chic flick... etc.
Hang in there. It will go away eventually...
