Hi Ladies,
We see our developmental pediatrican tomorrow morning. I received a letter from them on Friday that said we would see the DR and then do the ASD testing and that the appt would be a minimum of 2 hours.
Can anyone tell me what to expect in a nutshell? How is Isaac going to be expected to be there for 2 hours or more and how am I going to be able to handle him? How much of the time is testing and what kind of "testing" is it?
Thanks ladies, I keep thinking he's gonna tear the place apart in 2 hours but i am sure they are used to this right LOL

Yes, I do remember McKenna's eval being very similar to Claire's experience. I believe we were there for about 2 hours or so. Good luck!

I wish I had seen this yesterday since we had an evaluation at Grandview.
For us, we went and the social worker met with us. I forgot what they called him... "family" something or other... He just spoke to us for a few minutes and introduced us to those who would be doing the evaluation.
We then went in to see the SLP and OT. They did some evaluation of her fine motor and speech. After that, we went back to the waiting room and I think the social worker came back. (Forgive me... it was about 3 yrs ago, so it's kind of foggy!) We also had a hearing test done. We then went in to see the developmental ped. She took our history, then weighed, measured, etc. She did a physical, then answered all of our questions. At the end, we met again with the social worker to see if we had any questions and make sure that we had been given any resources we needed.
I'm sure our meeting was around 2 hours. It goes by really quickly.Mommy to two beautiful girls:
