    "Saphire"

Saphire, my name is Tarina and I am new here. I posted a thread recently "8 yr old boy lashing out" and I have just read your thread "frustrated" and your dd sounds just like my ds. My ds however, has not mentioned the "killing" bit. I have not read any other posts listed by yourself so do not know if your dd has been diagnosed with anything. With my ds, we are currently seeing a Phsyc but at this point is not going to recommend any meds and is going to give us some behaviour management strategies and if they fail, then look at med's. No diagnosis has been made but I also have an appt lined up in about 6 weeks to see a paedeatrician.
My ds will be 8 yrs old next week and he is prone to extreme temper tantrums, bossy and bullying behaviour, very loud and noisy, constantly interupts me when I'm on the phone or talking to someone at my house, backchats, argumentive, hits his sister who is 18 mths younger than him, ds gets easily frustrated, tells lies, goes through periods when he talks non stop even to himself whilst playing on computer etc......., immature and silly behaviour, dosn't like to be told no and not getting his own way. When my ds hurts his sister he always has an excuse or say's it was an accident. My ds has reduced my dh and myself to tears on more than a few occassions. I sent my post recently because I went through a spat of ds hitting me and had kicked me in front of my sister. I have looked at adhd, bi polar and oppositional defiance disordcer (odd) as possible causes for his behaviour.
My ds went through kindy, pre-prim and grade 1 being quite in class however, he is now in grade 2 and on occassions in doing parent help in his class I have observed a different behaviour (ie: talking silly talk to himself whilst he's working, being loud and boisterous and teacher has now placed him near her desk). Academically, he is almost top of class. I feel so bad sitting here writing all these horrible traits about my ds when I know he can be the sweetest boy. I would be so interested to hear any further on your ds and do hope you get the help you need.

sorry it has been so long since I have updated...so much is going on right now. No "official" diagnosis has been made on DD. At one time they said aspbergers...then another said Oppositional defiance disorder. Each doctor seems to have a new label. We did start zoloft 2 weeks ago but unfortunately it hasn't done anything
