Thank you for your advice re: my quirky daughter. Sometimes it takes writing everything down to work out the problem. Yes it is social anxiety in some situations. I have a couple of scenarios which I could do with knowing how to approach. I agree with the advice to ignore the behaviour and therefore remove the pressure but I could do with a technique.
For example at a party a well meaning father approaches my daughter with his daughter and tries to introduce his daughter. My daughter ignores both by turning back. To him her behaviour was rude. To me I know it is from shyness.
Also the number of times an adult has tried to say hello to my daughter, who has then put her do not disturb face on, and then the adult says 'oh dear is she in a bad mood?' I am weary of this and it musn't be nice for my daughter and kind of reinforces her awkwardness.
Any ideas? I am getting to the point of being very blunt with adults.
