Hey Im new to this thread...doesnt look like there is much action here but thought I would just post this to get it off my chest.
My DS is 6 yrs old. His bio father is AA/white. So he is pretty light skinned and has blond hair and blue eyes. most people dont realize he is bi-racial. But when the warm wind blows his skin tans very easily. People always come up and say to him "you must have been out in the sun a lot" or ask "do you go swimming often" and look at me like I have been baking my kid in the sun without any sun block or something. The way they say it is so accusing, like I am being a bad mom for letting him get so tan. Its way to exhausting and complicated to try to explain to them that he is bi-racial and his skin is naturally dark, plus I dont want to make my son feel like I am talking about him when he is standing right there. I just smile and go on...but it makes me mad when they look at me like I'm a bad mother.

Hang in there! I am sure they are just jealous!!
