sad moment

I'm back at work. A coworker stopped by today to pick up some papers, and she had her dd, who is nearly 3... we were pg together. Her dd was born about a month before Matthew.

Seeing her daughter today made me sad. She is a cute little girl, but she is SO GROWN UP. My boy would be just about that grown up. He wouldn't be a baby at all anymore, would he?

But he'll never be anything. He'll never grow into anything at all. And today it just hurt.

It sucks.

Thanks for listening.

I get it, whenever I see a little boy around JT's age, it gets me but when I see one with a little sister it gets me even more.

I think it hurts worse when we are so unprepared to feel that way. You know, like Tess said.. we are walking along in our own yards ( our own territory, our safe zone-we think) and then BAM we step on a rake and it gets us right where it hurts the most. I hope today is a little gentler on you.

Awww sweetie, I know how much that stings.

Erinn (Christine's daughter) is the same age that Lily would be and every time I see her my heart leaps (or breaks). It is amazing to me to see what Lily would have been. In some ways, I wish I saw Erinn more often and were closer to her because I'd love to have that "feel" of a connection with Lily. But I also know how much it hurts...wishing Lily were here to be Erinn's friend. Of course, if Lily were here, I might not even know Christine.
