Butterfly Birthday: last update

Hello!

The replacement butterflies should have arrived Saturday. They didn't. And so far they haven't shown today.

I finally called the company again. The guy that I spoke with said that the replacements haven't even been shipped. He did see the note on my account to ship them. But it just hadn't been done yet. No explanation why.

He asked several questions about the other butterflies that perished. He said, without a doubt, it's the heat here. He said it's just too hot for them to survive shipping. And even if he sent a replacement set out...we'd probably have the same luck.

I don't get it. It was just as hot last year and we had no problems. Sigh...
But anyway, I told him to forget it. I'm not waiting another two weeks for caterpillars that might or might not get shipped. And then another three weeks after that for probably another three butterflies.

So we're done with the butterflies this year. And I'm not sure we're going to do things this way next year. Thanks to Crystal, I have a link to a site that sends whole grown butterflies out the day before the release. Not as much fun as watching 'pillars get fat, but much less stress!

Oh well that just sucks that the guy didn't send out the replacement, that's just bad business! I am glad that you are considering this other company may be able to work for you next year..
