NOT trying to start a debate. I am just curious what donor parents think of this.
Yesterday I was watching a story about some guy who donated a lot of sperm that ended up conceiving 72+ children.
Do you think there should be limits put on how many families a donor can donate to?
To me this causes ethical issues but I wondered what your opinion is of it.![]()

I agree with you that there should be a limit. 72 children is just ridiculous!

I also agree that there should be limits. With 72 children, there is just too great a chance that half-siblings may unknowingly marry... I know there are limits here, though I'm not sure what the limit is.

I know that egg donor agencies put limits on their donors, like 6 donations. But of course an egg donor can unscrupulously go to another clinic and lie about having donated and then go on to do more donations. I would think that sperm banks put some sort of limit on donors as well? What sperm bank did the male donor use that allowed 72 children from his donations??? Maybe some clinics have limits and others don't. I know my friend and her DH many years ago used an ED that was past her limit of donations, but when they were lookng for an ED she was such a "dead ringer" for this certain ED that the clinic allowed the ED to donate one last time.

This guy was from Boston and paid for some of his law school fun by donating (went to Harvard).
I could see how this guy could be quite a "catch" and honestly would probably be someone I would want for my donor but to me there should be limits to that.Jennifer (36) - Final try FET Nov. 12, 2012. I saw the show too and thought 72 was way too many. I find his fiance's take on things to be very interesting.

I also went through a sperm donor. I avoided the sperm bank, or some donors or given too much sperm! So, I went on a site specific sperm donor (co-parents.net) or it is more that difficult to donnor sperm hundreds of times ... after 6 months of research, I'm pregnant ...
