I cannot believe that it has been 2 years already. Where has the time gone????? His addition to our family has brought absolute joy to our lives. He is such an awesome kid!!!
Two years ago today, at about this time, we were saying our goodbyes to "M" his birthmother and leaving the hospital. We were so blessed to be able to share the entire birth experience with her and it honestly broke my heart leaving her there with empty arms. I've always heard that leaving the hospital is the most joyous time for the Adoptive parents and the absolute worst for the birthmother/parents and at that exact time I could see why.
We still speak to "M" occasionally and I feel lucky that we are still able to keep in touch. I know that the contact will probably dwindle in the future - it already has over the past 2 years, but I'm glad that I've been able to get to know her & her family. It will be priceless memories to share with Hunter whenever the time comes.
If you've read this far, thank you for letting me reminisce (sp?). It is so nice to be able to come to a place where I can comfortably share my feelings and know that you totally understand where I am coming from.
Thank you to "M" for being able to make the right decision (no matter how tough it was), instead of making the easy one.
