I am friends on facebook with some family friends from dh's side. They aren't really "friends" of mine kwim? Well anyways one of them posted the following today:
"I spoiled my daughter too much! N is sitting there punching herself in the head and pounding on the piano keyboard just because I Said I wouldn't take her to an electronics store! She took the ornaments from the tree & smashed them on the floor! Fml so far this season she has smashed her Iphone & busted her laptop!"
Do you think that by "so far this season...." she means just the "Christmas" season? I really couldn't think of anything politically correct to post, if it was my child they would be figuratively close to death if that kind of stuff happened.
I might post something like that here looking for advice, but I wouldn't put it on facebook or something where everyone I know could read it. It just seems strange to me

I'm always amazed about the stuff people air on facebook. My BFF just posted yesterday with a rundown of her PMDD symptoms...and how it makes her want to walk out on her family sometimes. She lets pretty much everything fly while I don't post a lot of really personal stuff.

Some times I wonder what people are on to post on FB things like this. In your thing I am flabergasted by the nonchalance of the child's behavior like it is funny, there is almost a twisted brag to it. Any no way I would post this and now way my child would smack anything other then her pillow and nothing to right about on FB. No wonder the child behaves like this the child has no parent.

Ppl put WAY too much info out there. I think they forget it's a public place, really. I've seen some pretty personal stuff from a couple of not-so-close friends & thought... wow.
I thought it was getting close to the line when I posted the time/address of our orchestra performance.
My philosophy has always been not to post anything I wouldn't want hanging on the bulletin board at work for all to see.Kristin single mom to

I don't get it. Wouldn't spoiled be if she took her to the electronics store and bought her whatever she wanted? How old is this child? I think they need some help.

No I wouldn't. Unfortunately, I have a 7 yo who would be totally capable of similar behavior. I would not post it in that manner though. It sounds like alot of people use it as a private venting space when it should not be.

This child is 14. Someone responded to the post and the mother tried to explain the behaviour away because her daughter is being bullied at school. That may be some or all of the problem but this young lady needs to learn better coping methods.
The mother then posted that she will be packing her childs stuff up and changing the locks the day she turns 16. No "lols" added after that. I'm just flabergasted.peako
