    ipod/music lovers.....

So I bought this pair of headphones for dh for valentine's day, (we don't really exchange gifts but he's about to leave for So Cal and then to Tennessee so timing fit.).

These headphones are the coolest things. I've always just used cheapo earphones that come with the ipod or cost less than $25. Well, these are noise cancelling something or others and let me tell you.....you could zone out your entire world with these on.

Lory, I completely thought of you when I was listening to them the other day....I couldn't hear my kids complaining, my dh whistling for me to let the dogs out, the dogs fighting, etc etc. Nothing, nada....no annoying iCarly junk that the girls were watching on TV, no loud hum of household items in the background....zip.

You can't walk in them because an elephant could sneak up on you but they are awesome for some solitude at home.

WOW... sounds like these headphones may be what I need to take to the hospital... I was already thinking that I wish I could upgrade my IPOD to a new one before... I have sooo filled mine at this point... it's ridiculous... Never in a million years could anyone have told me just how much I would LOVE this IPOD... I take t everywhere... It has reminded me of how much I love music... I lost that somewhere... In fact, I lost BIG chunks of time... well, those memories anyway. The other night, I listened to <of all things> Goodbye Yellowbrick Road... 1st to last track... it was AMAZING! Some of these old Cd's... <sigh> it's like hearing them for the first time <again> only BETTER.... Do you guys remember how GREAT SteelyDan was <is>?... Ohhh... and Paul Simon... GENIUS! Love Songs & Negotiations... UNBELIEVABLE!!! Not to mention I have this whole NEW love affair going with the RedHot Chili Peppers...

These would be perfect in a hospital. The kind I got him were audio technica ath anc7. They aren't cheap but they will block out every outside noise. You get a weird sensory deprivation so when you take them off its weird to hear how loud your house is. And they are big and cushy so no painful ear buds. Although I did get a little hot wearing them to vacuum yesterday. (and not it didn't block out the sound of the vac totally but if I was using the hose and the machine was a few steps away I couldn't hear the sound from the hose). Oh and when I walked into the laundry room, I had to touch the dryer to make sure it was going. And I have an old dryer.
