Do you guys do something for your kids, Mom, friends... whoever, for V-Day?
One of the Managers here in my company went off today how it's a day for Sweethearts and that your kids and parents and friends are NOT your sweetheart... This is the same manager who sssh's me all of the time <which only incites me to be louder by the way>... I get a Valentine for everyone... I mean, com'on... the greeting card companies MAKE Valentines to son, daughter, Nana, sister, etc... It's not that out of line... I made a little goody bag for Nana <the main item being a pack of pretty new panties>... and I sent Tom's folks See's candy from Leah... and The big kids will get a Valentine and something red like Altoids, Dentyne or HotTamales and a car wash coupon or I don't know, I'll get something on the way home... and I snet Tom to Home Depot to get Leah a couple of pots and some soil and a few six packs of plants to pot... she loves to do this and her Gramma and Grampa senther a BIG box of junk... and a few of my friends did the same for her... <she's loved>... I completely let Tom off the hook... we agreed... no Valentine/gift exchange... I am not feeling up to it... I have the day off for two Dr's appt tomorrow... maybe we can go to breakfast together.
Leah's class is having a PJ party with a big pot luck <she signed up for ketchup... KETCHUP?>... and I intend to go to take a few pics...
Anyway, do you celebrate the day in anyway?

Ketchup??? Well at least it's easy to get.
As far as who and what to each their own. I will hopefully have my car tomorrow and will go get ds some of his favorite See's candies. Don't know what I will do for dh, maybe wrap up the reciept for the new tv that he just had to have even though the other one is just fine. I will make a special dinner for the 3 of us. Dh told my last night that he doesn't think what he ordered me will be on time if it ever shows up.
Hope the dr appointments go well and you get to enjoy Leah's party.peako

I normally buy the kids a few small things for Valentine's Day. This year, they're getting either a DVD or a Wii game (I'm not sure which) and a stuffed Webkinz.
My Mom always gave me little presents for Valentine's Day, too, and usually a card.

The girls will get a card & likely a small stuffed animal (they can never have too many, they tell me). I may also take them out for supper but not sure about that yet.

I got DD a calendar (so we can implement the rewards for chores thing here) and a card.
DH gets a book and a movie (actually my favorite movie, but we can share).
Unbeknownst to him, he bought me jewelry and some office furniture
As for sending stuff to others like sisters, mom and dad. I didn't do it this year. Sometimes I do when I have time to make the cards but not this year.

Not weird at all.
I've gotten Valentines gifts for DH (new clothes) and both kiddos (new PJ's and a webkinz). We sent Valentine cards to my niece from both the kids. I've sent Valentine cards in the past to friends, especially ones that I felt needed a little pick me up.Marie L, Mama to Marielle, 9 and Rico, 8

I do a photo Valentine card, much like our photo Christmas card, and send it out to about 25 people. I have a small stuffed animal, M&M's, gum and a card for the girls. I will give Ed a card (we agree not to do gifts). That's it!
Oh, and is it just me, or does anyone else have trouble finding a suitable card for their husband? OMG, some of those cards are so drippy...no words that I would ever actually say! NL, I'm guessing the cards are great for you and Vini

I don't do much, but I do get the kids each a little something. I got them each a small toy and a box of chocolates and a card. DH and I are going to go out to dinner Saturday. We used to celebrate it and I don't know if he has anything planned... I did kind of buy him a card, but it's a dumb one so I probably won't even give it. I don't give to anyone else. The kids do take valentine's to school for their friends but that's it.

I'm really not into Valentine's Day. It's one small notch above Sweetest Day. I bought cards for dh and the kids, while silently cursing the prices. Since I bought three, I got a free little stuffed animal...great, they'll fight over it, so now I have to find something to go with it. I might buy some heart-shaped cookies at the bakery tomorrow. I don't consider it a gift giving holiday for children and even dh and I don't usually exchange gifts for Valentine's Day.
