Hugs to everyone missing someone special.
Except that when I woke up today and looked outside it was STILL WINTER, I don't have any personal whines. But I will whine for Vini, who was the only one of us who did not get a flu shot this year and now is sick as a DOG. Fever and chills all night long; you could have fried an egg on the poor guy's back. He was shaking from cold, even wearing his big robe in bed under the blankets with me folded around him.

NL,
Sorry to hear about Vini, but the flu shot would probably not have helped much. I read an article in the paper recently that they missed on the strains that were in the shot. That's pretty apparent around here. Although Ralph, Rico and I got the flu shot, Marielle could not. Didn't matter....Rico, Marielle and I got the flu. Nasty stuff and it hangs on and hangs on.
I hope Vini does better soon but I wouldn't be surprised if he's coughing a week or even 2 weeks from now.Marie L, Mama to Marielle, 9 and Rico, 8

(((hugs))) to everyone who has lost someone.
Our priest passed out on the altar Ash Wednesday and died at the young age of 61. He left a very young family oriented congregation. My Mom's good friend's child died recently as well. He was in his late 50's and no stated cause of death.
I am still finding it difficult to get through the day. The panic attacks have lessened and hopefully the anitidepressant will kick in. I know how you feel Pollywog....MAV Mom to

hey ladies, sorry i haven't been around to post or offer much support lately. i have had a tough past week with some med issues. i am going for a stress test nest wed. due to ongoing chest pain, light headed feeling & general malaise. i have also been dealing with increased anxiety lately & had a major panic attack on friday night (thought i was dying). doc thinks it might be acid reflux & started me on meds monday but also wants to do several blood test to rule other stuff out. my friends think its anxiety related, who knows? my mom died from a massive heart attack a few yrs. back , very suddenly & so i fear the worst for me. if it is acid reflux, i have to change my diet (no citrus, caffeine, chocolate, etc..) i never drink coffee, only decaf tea but i LOVE those green tea packets (mandarin mango) that you put in your water & not having that the past few days has been tough. i am not a great eater (i don't eat enough) & now i feel a bit more limited (love fruit but have to avoid oranges, citrus). anyway, i digress. i guess my main whine is that i am fearful that something is seriously wrong with me & i just want to get these tests over with & move on. hugs to all who are struggling or experiencing any pain today.
peace, poet

My dd is sick with a cough and fever of 102. My dh who rarely gets sick is down too. We all got our flu shots this year, but I think Marie is right, it didn't give full coverage. Bummer.
I sure hope my sweetie doesn't miss valentine's day--she has sure been looking forward to it.

My goodness MAV, how sad for your priest. And big hugs to those missing mom's and others. Support to those who have sick families. We are getting over it here and I am hopeful we are done for now, dh and I haven't yet had it though.
I have nothing to whine about except it's cold and I'm ready for spring!Lois

Whining for those touched by illness, sadness, and loss.
For myself I have only petty whines, which is practically a Thursday Thankful, isn't it? But since it's Wednesday, I'll let them out anyway.
1--Stretch marks. On my boobs.
2--Hit yet another snag on my disability insurance. Still waiting to get paid for Nov. 30 through January 14.
3--Just got a call from Ben's principal... but I think that warrants its own post.

The nurse at our allergist's office told us that, too. Apparently, there's a strain of flu going around here that's hitting everyone really hard.
