Anybody still around here?

In case any of you are still checking here....

From the world of Cindy:

We have re-painted the house! Half of the new shutters are on, we may be done soon! WHEW!
All of this in anticipation of signing adoption papers with an agency in October....YIKES. That's kinda scary.

Leaving today at noon to go camping for the weekend with BF & the kids and some friends from church, DH has to work 16 hrs a day all weekend, they are taking down the whole brewery to "clean out" some steam stuff or something, well let's just say a huge deal.

So I will be back Monday night.

Hope you all are doing well and have an awesome Labor Day weekend!

Update if your around.

Hi cindy--- havent posted here yet but been lurking. Congrats on the adoption papers and wow what progress on the house I've spent the last few days steel wooling the entire kitchen plus all my pots and pans and bleach watering the entire house from the ceiling to walls to floor and I am dead to the world today. Hope you have fun camping

Still around....not much to say though so I usually just don't post much anymore. I still lurk and check up on everyone else though. When my "nuthouse" thread died, I guess it just took some of the fun out of the site and its hard to stay on the primary board when everyone keeps graduating. I guess I've just gotten a little cynical with my old age...LOL

Not much going on here, work, work, radiology school, fishing, more work. Still working both jobs (firefighter/paramedic for fire department and as a nurse for a private family practice office) and TTC. Am still not going IVF route until the RE can explain how I got pregnant "on accident" 3 weeks after starting a medication to lower my testosterone levels....even though the regular endo swears that there can't possibly be any correlation (dillhole).

No sense in hyperstimualting and producing a bunch of eggs that won't fertilize (I almost hyperstimulate with clomid alone) and spending the money for nothing. In the meantime, just TTC at home. *sigh*

Hope all are well and Cindy, so excited for you about the adoption papers!!!

Holmes, welcome

Thank you firegirl.... Not exactly the best thing to be welcomed into huh? I'm just now at 5 years so nowhere near as long as most of you but getting a little tired on the primary boardsand watching people come and go.

Warning: blunt, sarcastic. How's this for a first post? But I am tired and grumpy - it's 2:00 am and I can't sleep, so here it is. The ugly Sharon:

I'm early recurrent pregnancy loss so every one to two years I come and go for one week then return. Once I went for nine weeks but it almost killed me. I've never actually been on a pg board except by mistake, i.e. I thought I was posting my once-again pathetic first beta in the infertility section, but was in the beta section of the pg board (redirected by a search), how embarrassing.

Thing is DH and I are unexplained, so the doctor continues to give us a 1% chance of a viable pg per month. Given my advanced mathematic skills, I calculate that since over 60 cycles have failed, we have less than 40 cycles to go until we achieve success. Except that runs me uncomfortably close to menopause. I think at some point 1% becomes 0.5% and then my math breaks. Is there some diminishing returns formula I can use in a spreadsheet? DH, who is not mathematically inclined, insists we move forward with ART or adoption. Something about wanting a child sooner than later (or risk not at all). Silly DH, our sticky BFP could be next month! Who's put off by the 99% that it won't be? That's only been the case for 6 years but chance could favor us ... this time. After all, my traumatic pg loss last year put me firmly in the 0.1% category, so 1% is ten times more likely. Bring it on! (sarcasm or hope? I can't tell anymore)

Cindy, I am glad your journey is moving foward nicely. DH and I just submitted the last of our application papers yesterday for foster parenting, so we await the home study. We've also been fixing up the house this year! Nice!

Kelcey, I've seen you elsewhere around the board. Hey oh, over here. I'm also concerned about overstimulation. After all, I have my 1% today and don't want to risk losing that much. LOL "dillhole" (snicker). Thanks for the smile.

Holmes, I'm sorry to be a downer on one of your first posts. Like everyone else here, I have better days too (just not many this month). I hope you are having more better days than not!

~Sharon

TTC--- I completely understand no need to worry about being a downer.. have had more then enough of those days as well. I've learned to laugh about most of the stuff if not at that moment then at least by the next day. I wish this board was more active its nice having others that understand it all. Plus I'm so tired of having people that have been doing it for a year and then next I hear is yay I'm pregnant.. or the last post I read was some chick thats been trying for 2 months never did an POK to check if she was ovulating perfect cycles and was freaking out it was gonna be impossible for her to get PG UGH sometimes I wanna track IP addresses and track them down and knock some sence into people. Sorry look now u got me on that rage level lol.

I am also a lurker on this board. We just reached the 5 year mark last april/may. Think I am in denial that it has taken so long. I feel so OLD. I can tell I am no longer 28. I started lurking on FT in late 05, then have come and gone. Sometimes the support helps, but other times watching everyone you have cycled with move to the pg boards just gets to be too much. Firegirl and Cindy, I am sorry you girls are still here. I recognize your names from years ago.

Cindy- yeah on the papers! Fixing up a house is the pits! (But at least you had a great motivation!)

Holmes-you cracked me up! PLEASe do some tracking down. For all our sakes.

Sharon-
