Any advice for Donor Embryo cycle?

Hi, My name is Cathy and I am 43.5 and DH is 34. I have 2 teenagers from deceased husband and wanting a family with DH. We have done 2 IVF/ICSI, both failed and one cancelled cycle. We got on donor embryo list with last RE and 5 years later- last Fri. night got call that they had a match for us!! Started AF today and will wait for next cycle to start. Just started taking 1 baby aspirin and Prenatal vitamin and extra Folic Acid.

Any suggestions to prepare my body for this last attempt with hopes of implantation and successful pregnancy?

I have been under an enormous amount of stress lately with my daughter and son. Both ADHD and daughter 17 was diag. with Bi-Polar disorder. Son is 14 and starting to give me trouble. Maybe having a child that is not biological will eliminate the chances of this happening again.

Please respond with any suggestions.

Thanks, CathyNC

Hi Cathy!

Hi Cathy,

I am new to all of this IF medicine. (Not new to IF - ttc#1 - 2+yrs.) So I don't really have any experience to share as to what will work or not work in a medicated cycle.

However, I think the latest and greatest studies on Acupuncture to assist in IVF are very promising. Also, go to the Alternative Board and see all the positive BFP stories of women that used Acupuncture for their particular IVF cycle. I also know women personally that did it, and got BFP, 40 and over.

It has changed my life for the better. My cycles are normal, it has helped with my hormonal levels. Also, it has a calming effect on me. My overall health is better. I am hoping with acupuncture, healthy eating, low-impact exercise and a lot of prayers, I will get the BFP first time out.

Hoping the best outcome for you.

SUAL

I agree that you need to find a way to reduce your stress. I just read a study (wish I remember where) that talked about stress affecting fertility. I know it causes more stress just to know that!! But seriously, it's imperative that you carve out some space for yourself to just do what you want--whether that is a bath, a book or a cheesy movie.

Good luck to you!!
