Hi Loraflo,

Yes, I am still here. I posted today in my prior thread. I hope all is well with you and you are not as overwhelmed with the holidays as I am!! Going through IVF at this time is hectic! As I mentioned in my other post this IVF cycle has been terrible to say the least. A muriad of symptoms unlike what I had with my first IVF. Constant cramping, bloating, extended belly, sore breasts and it feels like AF is lurking close by.

My preg. test is on the 22nd and I went in for some blood work today to check on prog. levels. The nurse called as said its at 40 and said level is great just what they like to see. Now I don't know if this means much, I have heard that the #'s merely indicate whether you have ovulated and anything over 10 indicates so.

So how are things going with you? What is the latest on your situation?

Hi Rachel,

I just read your other post, but here are more of the same wishes:
:stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib

As for me, I'm waiting around for AF to start after my "natural" cycle. AF symptoms are definitely happening, but I can't do anything until the **** thing starts!!! I lost track of the days, but I think I am on day 29 or 30 or something. Everything was later after the IVF month.

Anyway, we will do an IUI this month while waiting on choosing and finding out the availability of a DE. We're very excited as our RE said our chances are well over 50% (up to more than 75%) using the DE. I still don't know how we're going to pay for this, but we'll find a way somehow.

Meanwhile, I will be awaiting your good news. Feel free to vent during the excruciating wait!!

Rachel, you took the words right out of my mouth about going through IVF at this time. I also feel as if AF is around the corner. My blood test for prog and estrogen were o.k. for prog, but I need to increase the estrogen, which means what? Hang in there, hopefully one of us or both of us are going to be pregnant for the holidays.

Loraflo, if this fails, I'm following you into DE. My husband is coming around to the idea (I'm spoiled) and I'll just have to do some creative financing for it. I'll hope to get started by the end of Jan. Currently, I'm waiting for my IVF results, and if it's negative, I'll be on the search for a DE. I'm inquiring around. My friend is going back to Brazil soon, so she'll be looking for a beautiful young lady that want's to make $5K, that money would go a long way over there, plus she'll be the same mix up I am (afro, hispanic, caucasion). I'm doing my best to save money, so we'll see. If not, its agency time which will take about 2 months to process. Lets keep each other up to date on the process, as I've said before, I learn from everyone's experience.

Take care all, and hang in there Rachel, the cramps and bloating go away by day 7 after transfer.

Well, I'll be waiting on pins and needles for both of your results! Like you Sammysmom, I hope for one, preferrably both of you, your holiday dream comes true!! Don't worry about the AF symptoms. Nickii over on the IVF board only had AF symptoms and she is pg and surprised!!

Sammymom, what a lovely, beautiful mix you are!! And that's a great idea! I am part Latina and am therefore looking for a mix too. I think in some ways people like us have an advantage to a point--at my RE's office many of the patients only want pure Caucasion, so those donors are already booked. Hopefully you are pg as we speak and won't have to go that route at all.

For both of you:

Hi Ladies,

Well, its 6 days until my beta and I am really dissapointed. I guess I just wanted to vent and this is the only place I can with out appearing like a complete loone! I have every symptom that AF is coming, from cramps, sore breasts, headaches which I usually experience before my period...anyhow, you name it I have it and I am really feeling helpless. I really felt that this one might take and I kept a very optimistic attitude now I am feeling very negative. I even went as far as to take a preg. test 6 days before!! Like it was really going to say positive.

Anyhow, just wanted to vent. I haven't mentioned these symptoms to my DH as I know he too will be dissapointed. Sammysmom I have sending sticky vibes your way and hope to hear good news for you.

Rachel,

If you need to vent, that's cool, but you know better than to give up the ship at this point. Have you read about Nickii's pg? She was exactly where you are now thinking it was over feeling her typical AF symptoms. That means nothing. Plus, you are testing way way ahead of time. That also doesn't necessarily mean you are not pg. You and I both know that yes, you may be right and it didn't work, so perhaps you're just trying to prepare yourself for the disappointment ahead of time. I get that. All I am saying is that there is still hope until proven otherwise--even if you start bleeding.

I say try (I know, I know) to take your mind off the negative and do something to distract yourself. Rent videos, buy yourself something, go somewhere, whatever. I know six days seems like forever. Also remind yourself that you WILL have a baby at some point whether now or later.

In the meantime: :stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib :stickyvib

Rachel,

Hang in there, I know how you feel. I'm going crazy and looking at my alternatives if this one doesn't work, which relieves some of the stress. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do if we're unsuccessful, except to move on. You are still in the early stages, so if I were you I would take it easy. Of course I'm a hypocrite, but I'm 3 days ahead of you, and definately feel the signs of AF. In all of my cycles I started AF the day of beta or day before, even when I had the chemical last time. So, we'll see. Anyway, take care and drag your DH out to see some chick movie to take your mind off of the wait. We're here for you.

Also, stay away from the evil pee stick, of course again, I'm a hypocrite!

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for your emails of support! Really need them while going through this 2ww. I took your advice and took my mind off this for at least a night. My DH and I went to see the "Nutcracker" at our local theatre. It was a great performance, but of course you know that there are usually a lot of kids that attend in their Christmas best and it was actually nice to see so many children dressed up and enjoying the play. I thought I would be a bit more depressed seeing all the kids, but it actually lifted my spirits.

Well, 5 more days and today I have no symptoms. Go figure? Anyhow, I still have a gleam of hope and again thank you all for your support. This Board is a wonderful place to vent and find support. No one else seems to understand what we have to go through.

Anyhow, hope everyone is well and I will keep you all posted. Samysmom, how are you doing your beta is coming up.

Progesterone Level (Preg ment, DS ment)

Rachel,

I hope it is okay if I barge in.

I have heard that there is no correlation, and I do not want to give you false hope, but 40 was my progesterone level when I was pregnant with a very healthy DS. I only had the signs of impending AF and had a hard time believing I was pregnant.

I have my fingers crossed for the two of you!

Good Luck to you and SammysMom for your betas!

Susan
