I lurk here. I'm an alumni of this board who lucked out. I come here to offer encouragment or experience when it seems like I might be able to help, but I don't often see things to which I can contribute.
However, since no one was posting to your update, I thought I'd pipe up and let you know I'm here, and YES, you can get pregnant when you're "this old"!!!! Name: Tulip Age: 41 now, 40 when I got preggers dx and tx: * severe tubal factor (warned never to conceive naturally or via IUI due to "statistically 100%" chance of an ectopic) * uterine factor (polyps surgically removed)(also have a fibroid that is growing) * immune factor (elevated lupus inhibitor and anticardiolipin antibodies) * severe male factor (all aspects, but especially morphology & motility)(anti-sperm antibodies)(optimized SPA = 0.0 fertilization, only ICSI recommended) * FSH is good! (Day 3 = 4.2, 4.6, Day 10 = 5.5) ============= * IVF/ICSI #1 in May 2002: Gonal-F, Cetrotide, Ovidrel * Transferred 3 3-day embies on Mother's Day 2002!! * Positive HPT's 5/21, 5/22, 5/23, 5/24 * POSITIVE beta on 5/24 (12dp3dt) = 665 * Follow-up beta on 5/28 (16dp3dt) = 3,422 (we're thinking multiples!) * Ultrasound 6/12 = TRIPLETS!!!!!! how long ttc: * TTC #1 4+ years Personal stuff (Optional) What's your hair color (natural or colored)? * used to be an auburn, now it's getting much darker What's your favorite hobby? * gardening Are you an active or inactive person? * OMG, I'm active How many hours a day do you spend on the computer? * way, WAY too many! Present!
Hi--
I lurk here for the encouragement (Thanks, Tulip!) Mostly I post on the IUI board. Name:Stacy Elizabeth Age: 42 dx and tx: sperm issues. Clomid, & soon IUI how long ttc:5+ years What's your hair color (natural or colored)? Blonde (natural) What's your favorite hobbie? Reading Are you an active or inactive person? depends on the time of day. I'm a night owl. How many hours a day do you spend on the computer? These days only a couple max. I spend way too much time in class and reading assignments. Mostly my computer time is limited to writing legal briefs and research papers. As for the rest of me: DH: 52 Kids: 2 each by previous marriages. 3 dogs, 3 birds, 4 gerbils 11 failed clomid cycles, 1 failed letrizole cycle m/c 6/00 Clomid this month, but stress and moving screwed up the early days, so we're sitting this one out and will move on to IUI next cycle. |

Hi my name is Catherine and I have been at this for 2 years this October. I am 44 and beginning to think like the Re’s now that I’m too old. I will be transferring to my 3rd RE next month where they will still perform IVF with my own eggs. I have just been down lately and have not posted. I will say that NanceLee's story and picture of her and Vini was wonderful. I also enjoy reading Lynn's posts and find lots of encouragement and support here from many. I truly appreciated reading the donors egg stories and may be headed in that direction myself. Money is always an issue but I have not brought a pair of new shoes in 2 and a half years. Imagine all the money I saved! In fact, I have not purchased new clothes etc. But that’s OK I want a baby!!!! Oh yeah and my baby will be well dressed.
So, I will forge ahead, continue to read encouraging storied and make great cyber buddies. My next RE is at the Cooper Center has anyone been there and done that???

Hi all,
I probably shouldn't even post here, but I do lurk and try to keep up with some friends I've met here. I've somewhat graduated from this board, as we had to make a final decision on either trying IVF one or two last times or moving on to adoption. We spent 3 years doing all the high tech stuff and remaining unexplained...with no insurance coverage, and I decided it was time. We spent a year of process to adopt two children from Russia. I was quite suprised how stressful IA was...but a different kind of stress than IF. We basically ate up whatever was left financially...but we have a wonderful family now. I'm wishing everyone here the very best of success, and I guess in the back of my mind, I'm hoping for a miracle myself. hair: auburn and curly (gave up straightening it) age: 42 (aarrgghh) dx and tx: 3 years (met/married dh at 38) of clomid, too many IUIs to count, and too many IVFs...unexplained (all fertilize great, FSH under 6, no male factor...probably age) active with 2 kids and working FT, but can use more excercise Not as much puter time as I would like Hugs!!

Hi all,
It is so great to find this place ! I found you through a post on another site and am so glad I came. I am 43 and have an appointment in a couple weeks to see if I even CAN conceive. I had my tubes tied when I was 33. What a tragic mistake, but...it is done. Now, at age 43, I have to figure out if I want to try a reversal or if we should go straight to IVF. From everything I've read my chances of getting pg are pretty dismal anyway but I have to try. Historically, I've never had two periods in a row without being on ocps or something. I've had to do the provera thing more often than I can remember and always had withdrawl bleeding. SO the estrogen part is ok. I just don't know about the others. Anyway, I expect I'll be back here for support, encouragement and to hear other's experiences. I am Amy, I'm 43, my DH is 43 Never been pregnant Tuabl ligation - cautery and clips 1993 Brown hair (natural) ttc #1 active lifestyle on computer a couple of hours at night fav.pastime - riding my bicycle. |
