trying au natural anyone want to join me?

hey girls,

I'm 10days past ovulation based on my temperature chart and did get a positive opk as well.

So far I feel just a little tired and vague irregular cramps on the left side and middle; I'm also on prometrium 200mg twice a day.

We went for it and trying naturally is all I'm up for enough ohss, iui's and ivf's its a total crapshoot in your early 40's, but this all just feels right for us now.

Anyone want to obsess with symptoms?

Hey Val-

Last month failed and yes all those emotions came back to me as well. I had my day 3 day labs drawn the other day I'll let you know where I fair in that camp. Two years ago fsh was a 5. I will be 43 years young next month. Yikes!! Maybe I should throw in the towel, everything I read says anything past 44 is a bloody miracle and miscarriage rates go even higher. I really hope you have success this month. I like your plan of bd every other day thats how I had my daughter 11 years ago and I'm sure my husband will be on the "go"team for that. hee, hee.

Hi. I'm not going to do any labs until January. I don't have maternity coverage until then, IF they decide to approve it (I'm self employeed), so I don't want to throw up any red flags. I don't have infertility coverage at all. Let's see, my story was similar to yours, I think. My son is nine years old and he was conceived after two years of infertility treatments (4 clomids, 5 injectible/IUIs). Then, surprisingly the month before my next inj/IUI cycle, I conceived naturally. Didn't even realize I was pregnant for 6 weeks. Duh. Not sure how I missed that, except that I didn't even know I'd ovulated and was so used to having to use meds, it didn't seem possible. Anyway, then came divorce and a few years alone. And now I'm with my absolute soulmate and just turned 41 last month. He's younger than I am and has no children. We desprately want to have at least one more together. And my son would love a sibling. So, here I am.

I was really hoping that maybe I'd just have a miracle and not have to deal with this infertility stuff again, but I'm sure that won't be the case given my history and my age. I just talked to a lady a couple hours ago that has a "bonus" baby (they have two daughters in their 20s) she conceived unexpectedly at 47 years old when she went off birth control thinking she'd gone through menopause and couldn't get pregnant. Her son (who is four years old and perfectly healthy, by the way) and grandson are the same age. Stories like that give me hope, especially because in the end my son was conceived naturally too.

So, now I'm on day 3 and we'll see what happens this time. Yes, my DH likes the every other day plan, too. haha

Our stories are similar! We don't have any if coverage either. Spent 80K in the last 3 years and went donor to have wonderful b/g twins on the first try. That is a long story but we have been blessed. They are almost 8 months old now. I still want to try naturally for a miracle baby , I always made tons of eggies and hyperstimmed all the time. Hardly ever tried natural so here we are trying for one last baby to love for a lifetime. What is your age cutoff for trying mine is sort of 44 and than its up to God. Well it always is anyway!!!

Glad you've met your soulmate that is wonderful and happy to be cycle buddies with you!

Well, I'll probably move to more high tech means if it doesn't work pretty quickly just because of my age and wanting to go ahead and try with my own eggs before it's too late. But I don't know because I conceived naturally before and had no luck with IUIs 10 years ago. I have never tried IVF, though. I'm not opposed to DE, but I'll probably give it a couple years trying with my own first. We'll see. I'm going to just keep believing in miracles for a bit longer.

thats a great plan Val, Honestly if you can do ivf better sooner than later. All you may need is the sperm meets egg plan. Try your hardest before you consider what I had to do to expand my family. Possibly find a clinic that does minimum stimulation this costs less and since you respond well a few eggs is all you need. I know of some down south that do this , pm me and I will give you the info. Google minimum stimulation ivf it worth a try should be 6k or so including drugs.

Be honest with me do you think I'm crazy to still try with my own my fsh was a 5 but searching for the golden egg is hard. I make plenty but where is the quality? We started this at 39 years old and had no trouble naturally conceiving my son when I was younger.

I believe in miracles and have seen them happen on these boards and elsewhere.

I'll be trying the natural way for at least a few months - need at least that much time to think about next steps given that my first two IVF attempts were really dispiriting. Have any of you talked to your REs about estrogen supplementation during your normal cycle? I'm sort of concerned that even if I produced a great egg, I wouldn't have enough uterine lining for it - my periods sure aren't what they used to be.
