heartbeat after many, many losses

Hi all,
I have not posted in a long time. Some of you may remember my posting
a couple of times this year regarding problems I've had recently with
recurrent miscarriages that took the form of blighted ova (that
happened three times) and two chemical pregnancies; all natural conceptions I started TTC#2 in May 2007.

This year I had a D&C in July, became pregnant in Sept. and lost it
right away. I had one period then became pregnant again some time in
late October. I am happy to say that I saw my baby's heartbeat
today!!!! I was beginning to wonder if it could EVER happen. Thank
God. It has. I have a long way to go, but on the 6th conception in less than 2 years, I'm just thankful for a good heartbeat. I'll go back on December 29, my 43rd birthday for a followup. I can't wait.

All the best,
Victoria

Victoria,
Great news! Thanks for sharing. I hope things continue to go well. Did you change anything by way of treatment that made a difference?

Hi Poobear,
I didn't do anything special this time. For some of the previous pregnancies I had taken lots of vitamins, supplements, baby aspirin, progesterone, no caffeine, very little sugar, lots of extra fruits and veggies, as well as Metformin. Before this pregnancy I had become very weary of taking about 20 pills/day of all the supplements, so I stopped everything except the prenatal vits. I even ate lots of candy with my kid over halloween and started drinking a cup of coffee in the mornings again...I always kind of thought that if I kept trying, eventually a good egg would become fertilized. I'm now off the coffee, have started taking baby aspirin again and will take the progesterone supplements to. I am hoping and praying that this baby will grow and be healthy.

My poor baby had Trisomy 22 and we lost him at 8 weeks; beyond hard. It's amazing that we can press on after such a heartache.
