Hey, 'yall!
My name is Karen Cooper (Brett's Gal). I will be 37 on Dec. 19.
We have been trying to conceive for 7 yrs, and in the meantime have endures 2 miscarriages, 5 failed IVF's, 2 failed GS transfers, insems, etc. Classic unexplained...(Aargh!) Doing 1 or 2 more FT's in Jan/Feb and adding acupuncture. I have blonde hair (foil highlighted), and am very active (running, yoga, any sport). In this respect, I am like a dog--have to be active & outside! I am married to the most wonderful person in the world, and am having a hard time giving up on this dream to bear his child (it's hard to let go!) Wishing everyone the best of luck in this journey of ours--the best thing about it is we are not alone! God bless! Brett's Gal

Hi,
I'm Julie. I'm 38 and have just recently had all of my tests and all comes out really good. I've just had 2 failed IUI's and am concerned with the timing of them. I've posted on this board as well as the IUI board. My Dr. has been doing the IUI's 14-18 hours after I've ovulated. I'm also using fozen DI. So, that's the only reason why I would think that they would've failed. Anyway, pretty frustrating! Can anyone tell me the difference between a Fertility Specialist and a Reproductive Endocrinologist? My Dr. is an OB/GYN Fertility Specialist. However, I've also seen OB/GYN Reproductive Endocrinologist. I see all over the board's that you should be going to a RE. If anyone know's that would be great! Thanks so much. |

I'm new to the board and am almost 38. DH and I have been unsucessfully ttc for over 2 years - 8 failed IUI's and 1 failed IVF - poor responder. Will soon be trying IVF #2 with a Flare Lupron protocol. Anyone else? |

Hi Laides
New to the board so bear with me. Name: Mel Age: 35 (almost 36) dx and tx: right mid ampullary fistula how long ttc: 1 year One eptopic One blighted Ovum My story is a bit of an odd one, so I will sum it up quickly. After a year of ttc with DH and undergoing a tubal X-ray it was determined that I had a hole in my tube from a previous eptopic pg many years ago from my first marriage. We decided to try a cycle of IVF and see what happens. Well in Canada the first drugs they put you on is Synarel at day 22 of your cycle (and you sniff it for 10-13 days) until your AF comes. Well after I hit around 13 days of sniffing I was starting to get worried cause no AF yet, but I was feeling signs of it coming or so I thought. On about day 15 of sniffing I finally took a HPT and sure enough POSITIVE. After going for several high beta tests (they cleared the pg of being eptopic) and then booked my first u/s when I was about 7w2d and clearly saw the gestational sac, the yolk sac and the possible start of an embryo. They said that I need to come back at 8w4d to determine if they were wrong on my dates of if this was a blighted ovum. So for one week of hell we waited and we waited. After our second u/s it was confirmed "blighted ovum" and I had my D&C two days later. Well now one week since surgery and feeling a bit better. I have good days and bad days. We have decided that we won't try IVF again since we know that if can happen on its own. We will try naturally and I will chart more closely. After just reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", I think I have much more useful information that can help us. That's Me |

Hello All,
Name: Carrie. Age: 36 Dx & Tx: Male Factor, low sperm & iui with clomid, 150 How Long: 3 years We have been trying for so long and it is really taking a toll on me. I used to be very active, but now I am more inactive. I guess I am a little depressed. We have tried iui so many times. DH has been on clomid for a little over 90 days. Last iui we had 7 mil, more than we have ever had. This is the first round since I m/c back in Feb., I was 6 weeks. I am currently 9 & 10 dpiui, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. We will try iui one more time if this doesn't work this month and then probably move onto adoption. I feel very thankful to have this site to come to. I teach during the day, so I come home and play on the computer for a little while in the evening. God Bless You All, Carrie
