40 and 24 weeks pregnant and soooo lacking energy!??? Is this normal??

Hi everyone. I had 3 children when I was MUCH younger (my baby is 16 years old now) and I can't remember having this tough of a time completing physical tasks at 24 weeks pregnant like I am now! Otherwise, I have had a better pregnancy than with my first 3 but we are currently packing up to move and I find just going up and down the stairs a few times does me in!! I'm a physically active person and worked out at the gym regularly for the past two decades etc. but I just find I can barely muster up the energy to complete the tasks of day-to-day life right now! Anyone else feel this way? My back has been hurting and so that doesn't help-it gets very sore with very little physical exertion. I'm just frustrated because I have SO much to do to get ready for this move and yet lack the energy to do it! I'm hoping this goes away after the baby is born, as I hate it! I was hoping someone else could share their stories so I know if this is "normal" or not! Thanks in advance! Kim

When I was pregnant last year with our son, I was 38. I had energy the first tri, started getting tired in the second and was exhausted by the third. I did start taking an iron supplement and that seemed to help. Have you been checked for anemia?

Yes, it's normal! Every pregnancy is different, no matter what your age!

congrats patervac on your pregnancy! With my first 2, I was 23 & 26 and felt awesome. With DS#2, I was 37 and had my little guy 4 days before my 38th b-day and after the 1st trimester, I was exhausted. The last month was torture and I worked at least 3 days a week prior to that last pregnancy. All pregnancies are definately different but I found being older, it was alot harder.

    Good luck!
