I think I will have the CVS after all

I was not going to do it, but, I laid in bed last night and really thought about it. It would devastate me to have a baby that did not live again. I have been very guarded so far so I think I could handle it much better now than waiting until birth and losing the baby. I am going on a trip in 3 and a half weeks and we will be seeing some of dh's family there and no one knows I am pregnant and they will once we arrive so I think it would be best to find out if something is wrong before we go. I will be 39 when this baby is due.

Just wanted to wish you well. There is no right/wrong answer on this one (and you didn't ask a question anyway). :-)

Getting pg is hard. Being and staying pg is hard, especially after experiencing loss.

Hugs.

My best advice is to take it one day at a time... and hopefully the weeks will go by quickly.

If it's any comfort, I was 39 when I conceived and delivered #1. I'm currently 32w+ pg and have a scheduled c-section 7 days before I turn 42. I am very age aware (anxious)?

More gentle hugs,
-Tia

I just wanted to say congrats on your pregnancy and to wish you well with whatever you decide and lots of positive thoughts for a happy and healthy pregnancy.

I had a m/c in Oct/2007 at 10 weeks, became pregnant again 2 mths later and delivered my son in August, 2008 when I was 38. He was absolutely perfectly healthy. I did the NT scan and bloodwork and the Level II u/s and everything came back fine, so, I didn't do the amnio. My sister also just gave birth 1 mth ago to a healthy little boy at age 37 and while her NT scan and bloodwork #'s were not as good as mine, she waited until the Level II before deciding on or against the amnio. In the end, the level II was fine and she didn't do the amnio either.

Although having the test is uncomfortable and for me was nervewracking, I had an amnio and wanted to let you know I was MUCH more relaxed after I got the results. Good luck!
