pyelectasis
Hi....
I am 37 w/ my baby boy due in April. Just have my 19 week ultrasound and was told my baby has pyelectasis, backed up fluid in his kidneys. The dr told me it's more common in boys and often takes care of itself. I have follow up u/s in 2 weeks. I have since read it can be a soft/weak marker for downs. My NT test came back 1:350. Anyone have any expericence with this?

No direct experience, but have been reading up on soft markers (my level 2 u/s is next week).
Did you have other soft markers? I think with only 1 it doesn't impact your odds that much. If it will help you feel better while waiting for next u/s, you might want to call and ask to speak with genetic counselor and ask specifically how that marker impacts your odds. Hoping someone else has more info for you. Hoping it clears itself up and eases your mind. hugs, -Tia |
