43 Pregnancy with #2, going for nuchal in AM

Hi! I have been a bit reluctant to post because, like many of us, I have had my share of false starts. But it is time and I wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

My husband and I are 43 years old, we have a 5 year old little girl.

I am at 13 weeks and will be going for my nuchal tomorrow. I actually haven't had an ultrasound until this one, and frankly don't want this one; but the high risk perinatologist starts his first visit with a nuchal so off I go. What I really want is the amnio, and is the reason I am going to this doc in the first place. So whatever hoops are necessary I will jump, just tell me where and how high!

I guess I am oddly nervous about the scan. I realize that I almost through the first trimester, which is exciting but there is always some lingering doubts. 94% change of gentically OK... but but but but!

Anyway. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Hi Vicki:

I had the nuchal and bloodwork done (I'm 37 will be almost 38 when this baby is born - 33 weeks on Thursday) and I'm glad that I did it. Everything was great. Good Luck and update when you can!!!!!

Hey all. So the little one wasn't inthe right position for the nuchal part of the ultrasound.. which is amusing. We are going for an amnio in a few weeks which will tell the tale.

I'll keep you all posted. Until then I am just hoping for some easy weeks.
