Support for 2008 Deliveries....

Hello,
I'm 42, DH is 36 and although I've been ttc for soooo long with over 10 IUI & 4 IVF-all BFN, I've been blessed out of no where and am 11.4W today...EDD 5/13/08. My last failed IVF was April, then I signed up for the Embryo donor program. Just as I was about to renew my mammogram to be placed on the donor list my AF was unusually late. DH said to POAS and for the first time seeing that word Pregnant...I almost passed out!...I'm still in heaven. I had my nuchal testing on Monday and will get results next Monday. It was great seeing my baby for the second time...this time moving around, arms over head and hands in face...I'm in love.
Considering the extream fragmentation of our embryos, and being told my eggs are just too old..this feels so unreal.
I would like to share this journey with others over 35...please join me.
Orisa

Hi Orisa -

Congratulations on your beautiful surprise

I am 38, DH is 37, and we are currently 22 weeks with a girl. Like you, we had gone through multiple IUI and IVF cycles (5+ years) before getting this BFP. We, too, are already in love with this little creature (although I'm also scared out of my mind that I have NO idea what to do...).

Again, congratulation!!

tennischick,
Thank you and congratulations to you...
Do you know what week the next prenatal appt. should be, after the nuchal?
I don't want to wait too long before knowing what's going on. I wish I had an ultrasound machine at home..lol...oh well.
I hope everything has been going smoothly for you?

Hi girls, I am 14 weeks today and like all of you spent years in IF land trying to get pregnant. BFN in my IVF in July and August I was pregnant naturally. Amazed and shocked, still pinch myself a lot. Looking forward you sharing the journey with you girls.

Hugs
Dawn

Hey Everyone -

I hope you're all having a good week. Is anyone doing anything fun for Halloween? I'm one of those freaky dog lovers who dresses up her dog and tomorrow is no exception. This year, he will be Frito Bandito -- complete with sombrero and poncho The children in the neighborhood love to come to the house and see his costume and, in turn, he loves all the attention.

Orisa - how did your NT results come out? I'm sure/pray all is well. As for your next US, my case is a little different since I had minor problems along the way so I've have more US's than the average momma-bear. I do know the second part of your NT (bloodwork only) will be around week 17 (I think). And, your BIG US (where they measure the whole baby) will be around week 20. That's a fun US and one of my BFF's also came to see the action.

Dawn - welcome and congratulations on your miracle.

My fun news is that I've finally started feeling the baby move on a consistent basis. Everyone kept telling me it would feel like "fluttering" but that hasn't been the case for me. Instead, it's been feeling like "popping popcorn." DH has even been able to feel her kicks a little bit so that's been fun for him too. My next OB appt is Monday so we're excited to see her again.

Everyone have a safe Halloween!

Hello & Happy Halloween Gomom, Dawn, and Tennischick....

Dawn,
14W..that's great..Congratulations! It happened the same way for me, After my last IVF my body decided it wanted to do it naturally. I wish you the best and look forward to sharing.

Tennischick,
That sounds awesome, feeling the baby move like popping popcorn...is it like fast flutters? Thank you for the important dates. I'm going to a new practice and want to make sure I keep up since I'll be new again. I'm sure your Frito Bantito will be a hit..so funny, I would love to see a pic.

My NT results were great! said I tested like a 26yr old..For Downs I started at 1 in 45 and tested 1 in 841. Trisomy 13&18 I started at 1 in 79 for my age-42 but tested 1 in 1,561. My fears are a little better now and I can enjoy more...

hi, orisa, dawny marie, tennis chk, and go mom!

i'm new here, only 7 and 1/2 weeks p/g and hoping to be here for the duration...i know the first trimester is one big hurdle to get over. i have a DD who is almost 4 and TTC #2 for 2 years--went thru numerous IUIs and 2 IVFs.

just wondering if any of you decided to have an amnio or CVS or if you could give me more info on the genetic testing you went thru. i'm p/g with twins at 40 (almost 41) and will be seeing the peri for the 1st time tomorrow. saw the h/b of both about 2 weeks ago, so we're staying hopeful but cautious.

when is the NT performed typically? i'm excited but worried about what's in store for us and so hopeful that i have 2 healthy babies in there when i had my DD, i had a combo quadmarker blood test and an u/s. i was told i had the placenta of a 21-yr old back then, so we opted for no amnio (i was 36 at the time).

orisa, it sounds like you had super results! congrats! how is the rest of your pregnancy going?

would love to hear advice and/or stories from all of you in my age group. i'm a bit uncertain about trying to carry twins at my 'advanced' age since i've never done this before.

jen,
CONGRATULATIONS! CONGRATULATIONS! on your Twins...
I had my NT at 11.1W. I had the scan and blood on same day, but for faster results you can ask your Peri if they can do B/W in advance. Since my NT went so well I've opted to not do the Amnio, but am looking forward to my 20W levelII U/S on 12/24.
I'm feeling much better now that I'm out of my 1st Tri, but having problems staying on my left side at night.
I've always wanted to have twins, I'm so happy for you and wish you the very best.

Jen - congrats!!! What an exciting time.
For me my NT screening and bloodwork came back with such low odds we decided not to do CVS. Our original plan was do to CVS or Amnio if the result were bad. Even my Peri recommended against doing the test because our odds were so good.

Orisa - I am having problems staying on my left side as well. My hips are also so sore when I do lay on my left side for awhile while sleeping. My Level II is next Monday 12/10. I am so excited to find out what we are having.

Hugs
Dawn
